Mik 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2007 iggy, I stopped watching the scenes from next week's episodes about two years ago. I think they really show way too much in them.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2007 I think as of right now, the Tom vs Karen plot is the only thing that is entertaining from last night episode. The rest is much forgetable.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2007 Karen wanting to go to LA = either her or Bill getting killed in the yearly CTU attack, as Im assuming her and Assad will be passing each other in the air..lol
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 Well, I guess I like the plot developments, but does everyone else agree that was one of the most surprisingly predictable episodes of 24 ever? Both of the big "twists" at the end, especially the one with Morris, were telegraphed really obviously. Could anyone not think it was Morris after the first 10 minutes of the episode? And I really, really, really want Jack away from CTU. Really.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 Hell yeah, VP Tolliver! Now we just need Secretary of State Swearengen
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 Powers Boothe being on is fuckin' awesome, though. I wish he were Jack's dad, not that pussy-ass Farmer Hoggett.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 Powers Boothe being on is fuckin' awesome, though. I wish he were Jack's dad, not that pussy-ass Farmer Hoggett. Hey goddamnit. Capt. Dudley Smith is the shit and don't you forget it. This episode picked it up to the 24-ian levels that I like. Good ep. Good ep. ALthough the Morris thing could be seen so easily. Their SHOCKING developments usually aren't that fucking obvious. Plus, Cromwell gets to be all bad ass now, and since Cromwell is one of the most kickass bad guys ever, I likes. I likes alot. Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 Don't trust that Vice President. Motherfucker beat his own mother to death, for fuck's sake. Well...stabbed her to death to be specific...but either way...don't fuck with that dude.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 I was hoping to hear a "Cocksucker!" over the speakerphone when Palmer rejected the plan. Am I the only one who thinks that the endgame of the bad guys this season is to get the President to suspend Habius Corpus and that's when the real threat is revealed?
Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 I am not sure. What I am sure of is that after all these kickass presidents giving kick ass speechs(not only to the nation, but to staff and any mutherfucker that dared to question their authority), DB woodside is doing a piss poor job at it. He doesn't sound convincing at all. Palmer Keeler and even Logan were dynamic when they gave a speech. Palmer II is just sucking the life out of these scenes. I personally wouldn't have argued if they pulled Davids Twin brother out of the woodworks somewhere. Yeah, it would be cheesy, but who gives a fuck. A real Palmer would be there. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 This was a good episode, an improvement from last week but the "big shocks" were all things we could see coming a mile away. - Jack's dad being evil? Check - Jack's dad taking care of Graeme? Check - Morris being the programmer? Check Either we're all far too conditioned to watching 24 and are anticipating the twists or the writers are mailing it in. BTW, Chad Lowe's casting as Lennox's bitch is one of the better punk-bitch castings in 24 history.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 "Groove is in the Heart" should play every time Dad Bauer comes on screen. I don't know why. It just should.

TheBostonStrangler 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 Am I the only person who's really pissed that Graeme got killed like a little bitch? Graeme had just successfully resisted Jack's torture, had revealed the Palmer/Tony/Michelle killings, had been behind the transfer of nukes, and spent the entirety of Season 5 making the President of the United States into his personal bitch. This guy was one of the most badass villians the show had ever had. Sure, he was a whiny sniveling bitch at times, but that just reinforces how much you hate the guy. And what happens? Daddy injects him with something and kills off a character who had a LOT more to do - the entire storyline with Jack and Graeme's wife, or the connections between Graeme and Logan, etc. I love James Cromwell, and I'm sure he'll do fine, but it seems like an unnecessary twist that was overly predictable and will probably hurt the show in both the short and long run. Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 I thought 24 Jumped the Shark when it did "Jack's Dad is the big bad guy" plot reveal. Seriously.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 I think the reasoning behind Graeme's killing is so that Jack has a reason to go visit Logan. So long as Graeme was alive and snitchin' there was no reason to involve Logan in the whole mess, now there is.
TheBostonStrangler 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 It would have been pretty easy to get Logan involved with Graeme involved. Just have Graeme escape, have Jack run out of leads, and then he goes to Logan trying to get information to help capture Graeme and find Fayed. Logan can't be anything more than a facilitator of past info now, so having him finger Graeme, not Phillip, would have been a lot nicer because of the hands-on relationship between the two. We never saw Logan and Phillip working together - having Logan give Jack's dad up isn't nearly as cool. If anything, I think it makes less sense to get Logan involved now that the one real link to him is eliminated and in the past.
treble 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 I don't understand why Graeme still had the IV hooked up.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Probably so they didnt have to restick him at CTU.
Spicy McHaggis 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 SJ is right. I feel a lot of loyalty toward 24, and I've been there since the beginning. But he's absolutely right. The complexity is gone from the show, and they continue to rehash. Another VP out to get the president? Come on. I'll give them the season, but man, these last three eps have been disappointing. Marvin, you can disconnect the tube without having to remove the actual IV.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 The only rehash happening here is when in season 3 everyone was all "ANOTHER mole inside CTU. COMEON. THINK OF SOMETHING NEWii!!!" and it wasn't a mole at all. Because the VIce president and the president disagree doesn't mean we have another Vice president having it out for the president. They are disagreeing. It has a chance to be a rehash...of 4 seasons ago. Thats a long fucking time.
Mik 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 My patience is a little thin with the plot involving Jack's family. They better pay it off in a big way. I'm not about to say the show jumped the shark, but this season is definitely at the bottom of my list right now. The very bottom.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Where the fuck is Assad? On a charter to D.C still? I guess timeline-wise it would make sense that he'd be gone for a few episodes but his presence is seriously needed right now.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Maybe it's because I've only watched seasons 5 and 6 and so I'm not as conditioned to look for certain cliches, but I didn't see the Morris thing coming at all. The dad killing Graem at the end was pretty obvious though, especially when all the CTU guys left and they closed the doors. This episode was a big improvement over the last one, which moved at way too slow a pace. Ditto on the "Assad needs to be back" comment.

I guess timeline-wise it would make sense that he'd be gone for a few episodes but his presence is seriously needed right now. Yeah, they should at least show him sipping a drink on the plane in one of those split screen, "lets see what everyones up to right now" moments. If anything, Lennox is the bad guy in the President's group, not the VP. I have a feeling hes gonna be pissed off that he got embarassed over Wayne Palmer not authorizing his proposal in front of a full cabinet meeting.

Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 I really hope that Lennox isn't the Big Evil Government Figure of this season because 1) He's not evil nor intimidating enough to pull it off and 2) He's pretty much been a roadblock for Karen and Palmer since the get-go and for them to not switch things up would be going against the rules of 24. I can see him having a boss that he answers to but I really hope it isn't the Vice-Prez. I'm far too used to seeing Powers Boothe be Badass Evil on Deadwood, I'd like to see how he tries Badass Good on this show.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 I've stopped watching. To me, the show isn't nearly as good as it once was, although I don't know if thats because of actual quality or if I am just sick of the same thing every week... Kind of random yes, but I thought I'd throw in my thoughts.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 While the show is still good I could do without the last second "uh oh's" "Hey Morris, get outta there, they're coming after you." The splittest of seconds later the bad guy's there
