NBA Roundtable Discussion

Recommended Posts

Past couple days of transactions:

Jarvis Hayes signs with Detroit

Josh Powell signs with Clippers

Ime Udoka signs with the Spurs

Wizards trade the rights to Juan Carlos Navarro to Memphis for a future first round pick

I am curious about Hayes to Detroit, I didn't even realize he was a free agent, although I know injuries most likely kept him from extending.

Powell will be interesting as he may get a lot of minutes with no Elton Brand. This is his big chance.

Udoka could fit in well with the Spurs, what I read the other day is he will be groomed to be Bowen's successor.

NBA Player Injured In Shooting At Party

A professional basketball player was injured in a shooting in Orange County early Monday morning, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened at the home of DeShawn Stevenson, a guard with the Washington Wizards, officials said.

The unidentified NBA player suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, authorities said.

The identity of the shooting suspect was not immediately released, and it's not known if the gunman is in custody.

Stevenson's home is located in a gated community in west Orange County. Investigators said a party was going on at the time of the shooting, and several NBA players were in attendance.

Washington has certainly the best off-season thus far.

Speaking of Washington, I read this on another board and it kinda made sense. What is it with this franchise and their playesrs and women. For those that haven't followed the team that closely, we've had the following:

Rod Strickland

Tracy Murray

Juwan Howard

Chris Webber

Andrey Blache

DeShawn Stevenson

All have had problems with women while being a member of the franchise. This has been a trend for about 10 years now, anyone know why?

When did DeShawn Stevenson have a problem with a woman?

And seroiusly, problems with women isn't a washington exclusive.

Didn't DeShawn Stevenson bag himself a 14-year-old a few years back and getting her drunk?

OHHHH yeah. He was what, 20 at the time?

Oh and that Eddie Griffin thing was pretty fucked up.

I always think he would have been a allstar had New Jersey not traded him....and he wasn't a world class fuck up.

Accident while watching porn in his car, gets plowed by a train later on...clearly the type of guy that should not be out on the road. Wonder what he was doing this time. Probably the same damn thing as the last.

Um, I am going to assume he was trying to kill himself. I mean he drove through the train stop and hit a MOVING train. near the middle of the train. I think its pretty clear he meant to do it.

He was a clinically depressed alcoholic. I wasn't slightly suprised by the news. Still sad though considering he was only 25.
