The absurdly wealthy Darlings of New York have asked him to take over his father's job as their personal lawyer, but the money that will allow him the freedom to be an altruistic do-gooder is only part of the picture. Once upon a time, a mild-mannered boy named Ned realized he could touch dead things and bring them back to life. Grown-up Ned puts his ability to good use, not only touching dead fruit and making it ripe with everlasting flavor, but working with an investigator to crack murder cases by asking the deceased to name their killers. But the tale gets complicated, as all tales do, when Ned brings his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, back from the dead and keeps her alive. Chuck encourages him to use his power to help others, instead of merely solving mysteries and collecting the rewards. Life would be perfect for Ned and Chuck, except for one cruel twist: If he ever touches her again, she'll go back to being dead, this time for good. Joel, his cynical best friend, Nick, and easy-going little brother, Jamie, are contemporary cavemen who live in the suburban south and simply want to be treated like ordinary thirty-something guys. Amidst student behavioral problems and the persistent romantic advances of the male nurse, Gary, Rebecca is certain of one thing - she is interested in the hot auto-shop-turned-Spanish-teacher, Tim. However, much as in high school days of unexpected teenage angst, Lisa, a former cheerleader and nemesis of Rebecca's, returns as the new English teacher determined to make Rebecca relive her unpopular past, setting sights on Tim as well. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 I really hope Dirty is as good as it looks like it'll be. I love Chi McBride and I'll be giving Pushing a shot. The Anatomy spin-off will probably do well and I think Big Shots might be good as well. As usual, ABC comedies look horrid.
Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 Read some of the Cavemen script, not sure if it's really supposed to be a comedy or what
starvenger 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 I think most of us knew that Private Practice was a go, but the backdoor pilot was soooooo boring. Wasn't Football Wives supposed to be one of their big shows for next season? Did the NFL squash yet another football-related show from the Mouse?
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 If it wasn't for football and "Lost", I'd never tune my TV to ABC. This schedule doesn't do anything to change that.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 Is Caveman a comedy or a race relations drama? I guess "Dinosaurs" pulled being a comedic stone age family with social commentary off ok, but this sounds terrible.

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 I'm happy to see Christopher Titus back on TV, but I don't see it lasting too long. I don't see much of any of this lasting too long, to be honest. They're going to stretch the hell out of football, Dancing With the Stars, and Extreme Home Makeover.

JHawk 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Women's Murder Club has some potential, as I read a couple of Patterson's book in the series and they're pretty good reads. I will also give Pushing Daisies a shot. So much for hoping Cavemen was a rib. *sigh*

Wasn't Football Wives supposed to be one of their big shows for next season? Did the NFL squash yet another football-related show from the Mouse? I asked this, and after some searching, I found out that Football Wives was indeed "Playmaker"ed by the No Fun League Good, the original is pretty decent on BBCA about soccer and American remakes have been hit or big miss. The main thing that makes the original so good though is the language, very adult content and nudity of the hot ladies. Without those elements, it would be kind of a weak show.
