Hawk 34 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Now, Mary-Kate Olsen is connected. That's just what this story needed. Edit: Yuna, no one jumped to drugs. Drugs were found on the scene. Mary Kate .... WTF?!?! Yeah pills were there. I'm just saying that whenever a celeb dies, the thought is, usually, drugs or alcohol or partying. Pills couldve been someone Else's for all we know - or sleeping pills - or a plant by some killer. My theory is a serial killer; too many coincidences between Heaths' death and Renfro's. Stop it. Stop what? I can have theories too, same as anyone. There are no theories here. Just bullshit idiotic blithering psychobabble from someone who has a track record of saying ridiculous things. Both of the deaths between Renfro and Ledger are unrelated and the very notion of a pill planting celebrity murderer is one of the most insane comments ever made.

tominator89 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 I feel sorry for his child, but that's about it. Also, Yuna is retarded.
Youth N Asia Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Damn, that one is a shocker. I always liked Heath, it's too bad.
Guest Smues Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 pill planting celebrity murderer Damn it's too long to be my new username. Damn forum restrictions. I think this guy killed the Benoit family too!
Cheech Tremendous Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 My theory is a serial killer; too many coincidences between Heaths' death and Renfro's. This is one of the stupidest things I've ever read at TSM... and that covers a lot of ground.
AmericanDragon Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 for the Joker I locked myself away in a hotel room for six weeks. I just formulated a voice and a posture and found a real psychology behind the Joker. I really put a lot of work into it. And the experience also on a production scale, by the way, is obviously a completely different shoot. Batman is just such a machine. It's huge and I've never worked on anything that big. “Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night,” he said. “I couldn’t stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going.” One night he took an Ambien, which failed to work. He took a second one and fell into a stupor, only to wake up an hour later, his mind still racing. Here too was his Joker diary, which he began compiling four months before filming began. It is filled with images and thoughts helpful to the Joker back story, like a list of things the Joker would find funny. (AIDS is one of them.) Mr. Ledger seemed almost embarrassed that the book had been spotted, as if he had been caught trying to get extra credit in school. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKa-aDga1fE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7Fkc0VM31A

haws bah gawd Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Well, CNN is confirming that the pills were over-the-counter Sleeping Medication. How is that even possible? This concerns me as well. I'm known to partake of Tylenol PM fairly regularly as a cheap, quick sleep aid. Maybe I should lay off the stuff? RIP though to Heath.
CBright7831 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!
BorneAgain Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 My theory is a serial killer; too many coincidences between Heaths' death and Renfro's. Well, this will be in somebody's sig before the day's over. I'm curious if The Dark Knight will be viewed in the same way the Crow will, what with it being Brandon Lee's last film, though granted the connection between that film and his death is much more strong than Ledger's with TDK, if one even really exists.
Matt Young Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 This is fucked up. I woke up and saw bulletins from RedJed and 5 other people on this. I wasn't a huge fan or anything, but I liked the guy. This will make viewing his role in The Dark Knight bittersweet.

Ledger already had a pretty impressive career at the time of his death, Lee was still breaking into the business. If it weren't for the fact they were both young male actors and their last finished role was in a comic book movie, no comparisons would ever be made.

On that note, I'm hoping no media circus will emerge putting forth the idea that the Joker role somehow drove Ledger to his death, though from what I understand, some have already started suggesting something similar.
DMann2003 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 I'm more surprised no one's brought up River Phoenix, the only difference being his public death at a nightclub
DMann2003 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 So, as the media has told us Steroids turn wrestlers into murderers And crazy dark roles can make actors kill themselves

bob_barron Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 That's really what the media said, but okay.
DrVenkman PhD Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Well done, Failed. I also like how it appears that Hawk 34 changed dubq's name to "dumb" when he quoted him and Yuna.
milliondollarchamp Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Headline news says that he got so into playing the joker that he was having trouble sleeping.
UZI Suicide Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Why can't it just be that the guy was a fucking junkie? I mean, I liked him, pretty good actor, but I find it ridiculous that everyone is trying to find excuses now when he probably was always just a guy who liked drugs.

Not to give credit to Yuna's idiocy, but as a recent comparison, Renfro died of an overdose and had a pretty documented history of abuse and the coverage properly reflected that. Ledger, doesn't have a documented history of drug use and the circumstances are still unclear. That doesn't mean he didn't have abuse problem but since there isn't a history, you can't go straight to that assumption until more facts come out.
Downhome Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Yuna, one more stupid comment like that and I'm tempted to change your name.
cabbageboy Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 This shocked me. I will admit when I first saw this news report two things occurred to me: 1. Man, I hope Nolan got all his scenes in the can for The Dark Knight. And 2. This is going to be like watching The Crow. Anyway, I'm not going to jump to conclusions about what he was or wasn't on, or if he killed himself. Just going to wait until all the news comes out.
Downhome Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/04/movies/m...ial/04lyal.html He is here in London filming the latest episode of the “Batman” franchise, “The Dark Knight.” (Mr. Bale, as it happens, plays Batman; Mr. Ledger plays the Joker.) It is a physically and mentally draining role — his Joker is a “psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy” he said cheerfully — and, as often happens when he throws himself into a part, he is not sleeping much. Even as he spoke, Mr. Ledger was hard-pressed to keep still. He got up and poured more coffee. He stepped outside into the courtyard and smoked a cigarette. He shook his hair out from under its hood, put a rubber band around it, took out the rubber band, put on a hat, took off the hat, put the hood back up. He went outside and had another cigarette. Polite and charming, he nonetheless gave off the sense that the last thing he wanted to do was delve deep into himself for public consumption. “It can be a little distressing to have to overintellectualize yourself,” is how he put it, a little apologetically.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Man, that movie he did where he played a drug addict.....Candy, yeah that's it. Fucking movie sucked which is all the more shocking given these turn of events.
Jingus Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Why are people so adamant that it couldn't have beem a simple suicide? The dude did just go through a divorce. And over-the-counter sleeping pills are the most common method used for people killing themselves in this country. I am terribly upset that people already used the Kevin Sullivan/Geraldo Rivera references that were the first thing I thought of when I read Yuna's post.
Hawk 34 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 He wasn't married to Michelle Williams (not that a break up wouldn't have an effect, just wanted to clarify that for you). No one is ruling out suicide, in fact, the media is pushing that possibility.
Nightwing Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Well, CNN is confirming that the pills were over-the-counter Sleeping Medication. How is that even possible? This concerns me as well. I'm known to partake of Tylenol PM fairly regularly as a cheap, quick sleep aid. Maybe I should lay off the stuff? RIP though to Heath. Well, if you look at the article I posted earlier (Which has subsequently been posted here by a few people), it would suggest that he took more than a recommended dose as it didn't seem to be working. Him taking two sleeping pills, only to wake up suddenly an hour later would suggest to me that he might have been in the middle of a "Coma-Awake-Coma" sequence that the article described him sort of going through and his body just kicked out on him after he went to sleep the second (Or third... or fourth) time and never woke up again. To me, that's the most logical answer. And to just to say, UZI is even more retarded than I thought he was in the actual Dark Knight thread.
