Thanks for the Fish

Armageddon 2008

Recommended Posts

According to some reader report on wrestlezone.com...

When Cena threw his hat during his entrance, the person who caught it in the crowd was escorted out of the building because he reached into the Tech booth to grab it.

What the fuck is that shit?! He just wanted the damn hat...Obviously this is hearsay, but if true, is crap.

Who gives a shit, really?

The guy probably acted like an ass, or maybe he didn't....obviously the whole story isnt there.

Hardy will be one of those 1-time champions like Benoit, JBL, and Eddie.

In Eddy's defence, dude died before #2.

Also, poor Edge can never hold the title for more than a month it seems.

Why the fuck did they even put the belt on him, anyway? I thought that they were supposed to be building to Hardy finally going over Helmsley, not Edge.

So...the point of that Edge title reign was?

To set up Edge v. Hardy in the "former champion's rematch clause" match at the Rumble, leaving HHH free to win the Rumble match and set up HHH v. Hardy in the "You finally won a big one, now let's see you win the big one." WM main event.

2 things:

1)To continue from a discussion in either a Raw thread or General Wrestling (don't feel like looking up which) where someone said the briefs looked more champion like...

Now we have all three top brand champs who wear ring attire other than the breif tights (Cena, M. Hardy, J. Hardy)

2)Is it safe to say that The Hardys can now be considered the most successfull tag team of all time, as between the two of them they've held pretty much every title in the WWF/E except for the World Heavyweight?

Edge: 3x WWE Champion, 2x World Champion

Christian: 2x TNA Champion

That makes 8 reigns between them.

A couple of facts regarding tonight's title change:

Jeff Hardy is the 90th WWE Champion and only the 38th man to hold the title since its inception in 1963.

This is the first time a World title has changed hands in Buffalo, NY since September 17, 2000 when Booker T defeated Kevin Nash in a cage match at Fall Brawl.

Jeff Hardy is only the 4th man to win the WWE Championship after a top-rope maneuver. Randy Savage (pinning Ted DiBiase at WrestleMania IV after an elbowdrop), Eddie Guerrero (pinning Brock Lesnar at No Way Out 2004 after a frogsplash), and Rob Van Dam (pinning John Cena at ECW One Night Stand 2006 after a Five-Star Frog Splash) are the only other men to have accomplished this feat.

Edge in a 3 time World Champ......that'll give you 8 reigns then.

Hardy winning the title doesn't change anything. It actually makes it worst, because it's gimmicky like they tried to make the PPV worthwhile by giving Hardy the title. I like Jeff getting the title, but the timing was all off. It was like the wwe painted themselves into a corner and knew they couldn't have him lose another title match, especially couldn't take the pin and HHH wasn't going to be pinned so they gave him the title.

Also Edge losing the title after a month is a joke as well. Hardy should have won the title at WM from Edge. Hardy could have been taken out of the title hunt by the attack last month, starting a feud with the perpetrator. Tomko is available to start at any time. They could have booked a storyline involving Edge, Christian, Tomko, Matt and Jeff Hardy - hell Kizarny and Helms as well if they really wanted to go big.

People just need to stop bitching. WWE finally let Jeff win the big one, and people are going to bitch because the timing was bad, or because he didn't celebrate like Eddie Guerrero. You could tell the guy was emotionally overcome, and the crowd fucking exploded when he won. Just because he didn't jump into the crowd to celebrate, or it didn't happen at a "Big" PPV, doesn't take away from the fact that despite being a seemingly never-ending, walking fuck-up, Jeff Hardy finally became WWE Champion! Perhaps giving him the responsibility of being WWE Champion, and the top guy on Smackdown, will finally be the "kick in the BUTT" Jeff needs. I'm anxious to see where they go with him now. He beat Triple H, cleanly, to become #1 contender last year, and he finally won the title a year later. Well Done, Jeff!

HHH doesn't have the win the rumble, though, he could always win the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out, or otherwise get interested into the title match somehow.

I'll believe Jeff main eventing WM when I see it. This was a guy who got suspended earlier this year for WM, after all. Would they really keep the belt on him till then?

I'm watching this again, and where the hell is the "No reaction"? The crowd went crazy.

I watched it the first time without headphones (just out of my laptop speakers) and thought it was a good but not great reaction. Then I watched it with headphones on and god damn..the crowd exploded. And I cried.
