PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 I can't believe (in that they suck/why did the wwe sign these guys way) that Ryder and Hawkins are still employed. PWI is reporting that talent cuts are coming today. The Edgeheads had better not answer their phones.

Either should D'Lo Brown, Candice Michelle, Jim Duggan, Hardcore Holly, Val Venis, Jimmy Yang, Braddock, Goldman, Gavin Spears, Paul Burchill, Sim Snuka, Bam Neely, Katie Lea or Rickie Ortiz for that matter... Dandy 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 They are saying the wrestlers would be fired over the phone. Thus, if you never answer your phone, you will never be fired. It works, because they won't fire a man to his face. Why, he'd cut ya!

haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 Talent Cut days are always fun. You usually get a few no-name developmental guys, and a handful of notable talent. Should be an interesting day. I'm glad Low Ki finally got signed. If he can behave himself, he should go far with WWE. I'd love to see he and Evan Bourne or Rey Mysterio tear it up in the ring at some point. Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 From PWinsider: World Wrestling Entertainment layoffs continued today with what one employee referred to me as "The Titan Tower Massacre" as a number of department heads were let go. Three different people I've spoken to noted that just about every supervisor and boss they've ever had has been let go. It's about as depressing as you could imagine. WWE had security guards (one person told me armed guards, but I haven't been able to doublecheck that) escorting fired employees off the company's Stamford, CT property. We've also heard that ECW brand referee Mike Posey (who some of you may remember as "Dropkick" Mike Posey during his tenure in the TNA Nashville PPV era) was released today as well. Additional talent releases from all areas, including road agents/producers are expected today. Wwe has decided to go with basically one crew of referees so the wwe could half their referee roster. I would suspect seniority would rule here, with the youngsters getting the axe.

It works, because they won't fire a man to his face. Why, he'd cut ya! Also, during one of the mass layoffs a few years ago, I think Meltzer or one of the other sites reported that there was one wrestler who WWE was trying call to fire him, but they couldn't get in touch. Everyone on TSM was trying to guess who it was. I think Val or Tyson Tomko were the most popular guesses, with Val obviously not being the one.

YourKock'sReallyGreat 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 Why not make an angle out of it and have it on tv. That should get someone over as a heel.
AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 Why not make an angle out of it and have it on tv. That should get someone over as a heel. That would suck for the guys getting fired. On TV someone tells them that he/she is fired, and once they walk through the curtain they are handed a pink slip "No, seriously, your fired"

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 Thus ends the career of the most incompetent bodyguard in professional wrestling history. Including Ralphus. D-Lo should have at the very least gone to ECW and interacted with Henry and Long.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 That's horrible for D-lo. The WWE really should have tried to do more with him other than just having him on Raw.
Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 Ah poor D-Lo, though can't say anyone would be surprised. What lies in store for him now?
Scroby 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 Japan and Indies probably.
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 Well given my earlier list I can't say either were unpredictable. Bam Neely offered little, other than a cheesy name. He was a hoss in the developmentals however in the wwe he was pretty average sized and thus really limited. D'Lo Brown absolutely had more to offer and as has been stated should have been in ECW in the very least. He was never going to be a main eventer, but he could have been a solid midcard veteran that could stay over regardless if the losses mounted on his record. Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 According to the link posted above with D-Lo story, Val Venis got fired. Truly the WWE is disbanding or the end is rear. Edit: Well the porn industry wants a bailout, so nothing is recession proof.
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 I still contend that he had a shot with the Chief Morley character. That was his chance to rise above the porno gimmick and they gave up on it much too soon. I assume he'll retire from the business.
