RAW

I'm going to RAW tomorrow....with Black Lushus! Now all I have to do is get high with The Czech Republic and my life will be complete.   We have shitty seats. I can't wait to see him mark out!   also, I hope abowen33 doesn't bother showing his face at RAW, I'll tear him apart if I see him.

12. Weekend is over. Blah.

12.   I was barely online this weekend. Which was rather strange. Didn't really do much during it either... besides lots of cleaning, watched crappy movies like The Ring with some friend, and some tennis, and watching sports crap on TV.   So, I guess the biggest news of the day was some IRL guy getting killed in a crash. Or, at least the sports networks tell me so. It's obviously sad that a young guy like that dies... but, let's calm down the pity party. Nobody forces these drivers to ride around a track at 200 mph. They should thank their lucky stars that continue to live every day. It reminds me of when Earnhardt died, and everyone was up in arms about SAFETY! Fuck you. If anyone really cared about safety, there would be no racing. And let's face it, the only reason racing is so popular is because of nasty crashes like that. No offense, but it's a choice you make. If you choose to race at high speeds, you potentially offer your life for money. If you die, you die. The end.   And George Mason reaches the Final 4. Holy shit... simply amazing stuff. And just look at the teams they beat... UConn, North Carolina, Michigan St. and Wichita St. I knew Mason was always a very good team, but this is just unbelievable. Again, this is why college basketball is miles ahead of all other college sports, at least in the television aspect. However, I was one of those that thought Hofstra should have been in the tourney instead of them... and still do. Although, I thought the Colonial should have got 3 teams. And no, this doesn't mean we'll be getting more mid-majors in the NCAA's.   The Players Championship was a dog this year. Stephen Ames was a really underrated player, so I wasn't shocked to see him win. But, HOW he won. Damn, good stuff. Just beat the tar out of everyone. He seriously looked like he was playing on a different course than everyone. I'd say he got the best out of Tiger after all... you can have the 9&8 first round win in Accenture, I'll take the runaway Players Championship title. But, still disappointing, like most Players have ended up being lately. I'd just like for it one year to be a shootout with 10 or so players left in contention during the final handful of holes. The worst was Craig Perks winning a few years ago... god, does he blow. Had a nice horseshoe up his ass that Sunday. And the move to May for next year should make things a lot better. Sawgrass will be evil hard if the rain stays away all week. I'd really love for a US Open to be hosted there... that would be diabolical.   I watched Smackdown for the first time in... about forever. Damn good show. For most people who hate wrestling and only watch Raw, at least give SD a shot. It's easily the best wrestling TV show currently. A fun battle royal. A great TV match with Rey/Finlay that you won't see many better of on TV. And most of all, very little stupid shit like McMahonamania, or hokey comedy. There's still some of that... but, it doesn't ruin the entire show. Plus, I mark out for Randall Orton and Kurt Angle. So, I'm happy. The negative is Friday night... I'm never going to be able to remember to watch it at that time. And I don't even go out every single Friday night like many people do. Downloading it is fine, but that gets tiresome, also.   I wrote enough for today, save some for tomorrow when I'm bored at work. Toodles.   Leelee.

Question of the Week: Vince and Montreal

With Vince McMahon’s obsession over Montreal, do you think that even if Bret was somehow convinced to do an angle to put a storyline closure to it, that we’d see an end to the obsession? Would Bret getting involved and Vince getting, in his mind, the absolution he’s been after for so long, finally put an end to Vince bringing Montreal up every year?

3/26: My Favorite Baseball Card Designs

If you don’t read Bored’s blog, which deals mostly with sports stuff, especially when it comes to nostalgia-related matters, then get your hippie ass over there now. While I’m not one for debating who was more deserving of seventh place for the 1991 Cy Young award (I don't even know who won it -- Jack Morris?), he recently said something that struck a chord with me. When debating which multi-millionaire deserved the 2003 AL MVP award, he remarked, “And god damn do baseball cards suck now or what?”   Yes they do. And thanks for the idea.   As a kid, I loved collecting sports cards, particularly those dealing with baseball and football. In the 1980s and early 1990s I actively took part in this hobby. However, after around 1993 I stopped collecting, mostly because it seemed that the industry went from collecting for fun to collecting for money. Packs of cards that used to cost 50 cents for a pack of 15 (and that gum – blech) went up to several dollars for a pack of less than 10 cards. No thanks.   I never collected cards for the money; I collected out of nostalgia. Now that I’m older, I’m grateful that I’ve managed to hold onto these little pieces of memorabilia. A few months ago I opened up my collection and went through some boxes, just to see how the cards are holding up, and I couldn’t get myself away from shuffling through thousands upon thousands of these cards. The last time I did any sort of “inventory” on my cards was in the late 1990s, and one of these days I need to go back and re-organize these bad boys.   Like I said, most of my collecting was done during the 1980s and early 1990s, but I also have a few cards from the 1970s and 1960s that I picked up at various shows and hobby stores over the years. However, for me the 1980s and early 1990s were a great time for collecting baseball cards, and below is a list of my favorite designs of this era. Keep in mind I do just about everything in life half-assed, so I have no real criteria or rhyme or reason for some of the years I prefer. The only rule I set was to make each of my “Top 5” from a different company. The reason for this is there are a few designs I like with similar layouts, so that’s kind of like double-dipping to me (see the 1986 and 1991 Donruss brands below).   Without further ado, here is my Top 5. Keep in mind the rankings are determined by an extremely complicated win-share formula that if I showed you I'd have to kill you.   Number 5:     1988 Score   I didn’t collect a lot of this brand, which came out toward the end of my collecting days, but I always liked the 1988 year, mostly because of bright color schemes on the front. Plus I liked that little triangle at the bottom where the player’s name and position is, and there was that white frame around the player's image; those were some nice touches. I give this a 20 win-share.   Number 4:     1990 Donruss   I was never a fan of Donruss cards, although like I said above, they had a design scheme in 1986 that I liked, which was used again (sorta) in their 1991 set. However, I also dug their 1990 design, which seemed to be a drastic change from how they usually produced their cards. Donruss went with a base red color and an artsy font for names. In addition, the “speckles” used as an enhancer effectively broke up the solid background. I give this a 35 win-share.   Number 3:     1990 Upper Deck   I have a love-hate relationship with Upper Deck. When these cards came out on the market, it was an omen that my days of being involved with this hobby were numbered. These cards were pricier than what I had been used to collecting, and there weren’t as many cards per pack, but damn there some nice-looking designs. The 1989-1991 sets all pretty much looked the same, so I went with the 1990 brand because it had a simpler design than the other two years, and when you dealt with cards that looked this good, sometimes it’s best to keep it simple. I give this a 75 win-share.   Number 2:     1987 Topps   Topps was the big dog of card companies during this time, but I never really got into their designs; most of the time they just seemed stale. However, 1987 was an exception. That wooden background brought out the colorful box where the player’s name was printed. Also, it was a near-perfect complement to the team logo, which was at the top left corner of the card. I give this a 76 win-share. (Originally I had the Topps brand at number 3 and Upper Deck at number 2, but upon further review I couldn’t let the brand that helped bring about my disinterest in the industry lounge in the second slot.)   Number 1: 1984 Fleer:     By far my favorite baseball card design, and I really can’t explain why. There was no real color coordination for teams, like the 1987 Topps or 1988 Score cards. There wasn’t a fancy background, like the 1990 Donruss brand, and it certainly wasn’t made of the same quality as the 1991 Upper Deck set. However, the white background meshes perfectly with the blue bars, and the white and black text is a great combination, as is the placement of the team’s logo on the lower right corner. This gets a 10,000 win-share for me.   Like I said before, there were a few other cards that I liked which didn’t make the cut. They include, in no particular order:     1986 Donruss     1991 Donruss (note the resemblance in design, or at least there is one for me)     1989 Fleer     1982 Topps     1990 Topps.   In addition, there was a 1988 Classic Card series that for some reason I’ve always liked, and it dealt with Phil Nieko’s final year in the major leagues. There’s one card featuring him on the Indians, another card of him pitching for the Blue Jays and a final card of him finishing off his career where it started, with the Braves.     But baseball cards weren’t the only things I collected. There was also football, a topic I’ll cover in a future entry.

Tobe Hooper's Mortuary: a review.

It's hard to believe that the man who directed films such as Polergeist has had such a hit and miss career. For every Texas Chainsaw Massacre, there is a Mangler. For every Funhouse, there's a Crocodile. His latest movie, Mortuary (which just aired on Sci Fi, and hits DVD on April 18th.) isn't exactly a miss, but it's not a hit either.   The movie tells the tale of the Boyle family (which includes Denise Crosby from Pet Cemetary and Dan Byrd from the recent remake of The Hills Have Eyes), who move into an house in Arkham, Mass. Yes, this movie is heavily influenced by HP Lovecraft. That out of the way, the home is also a Mortuary, and of course, since it's a Mortuary in Arkham, only bad can come outt of it.   Anyways, the son get's a job at a diner, and makes some friends (including Alexandra Adi from Slap Her, She's French and Tequila Body Shots, and Rocky Marquette from Shallow Ground). They tell him about the legend of Bobby Fowler, a strange boy who murdered his parents at age eight and is rumored to live in the cemetary, which conveniently, is in the back yard of our Teenage hero's house.   Needless to say, it turns out that Bobby Fowler is real (and a bizzare, uneven mix of HP Lovecraft, the monster from Stuart Gordon's Castle Freak (which was inspired by a Lovecraft story) and Lucio Fulci's House By The Cemetary). Oh, and there's a strange fungus that possesses people, and brings the dead back to life. As well as a Lovecraftian creature who controls the fungus/slime. Oh, and the zombies can only be killed by salt. So, does it work?   Well, yes and no. On the plus side, Crosby, Byrd, and Marquette do good jobs at their roles. The make up effects are well done, and the Lovecraftian overtones and references don't hurt a bit at all. However, there are problems. The first being the rather lame CGI effects. Another problem is that the other performances are uneven. The biggest problem however, is the general tone. At one minute, it seems like the movie wants to be a creepy gothic horror story and tribute to Lovecraft, then in the next minute, it wants to be a tongue in cheek romp. The two style generally don't work, and the attempts at humor are pretty lousy. Plus, don't expect a gorefest, Sure, there's a torn out heat, black fungus vomit, and some blood, but no major gore. Then again, several of Hooper's films aren't that gory (or even gory at all) to begin with.   All in all, the best way to describe Mortuary would have to be uneven. I'll give it 5/10, since it's definately different, and it's never boring. However, it's not really good either, though it's not Hooper's worst movie.

Award Redo: 2003 A.L. MVP

In a recent entry on Leelee's Blog, she mocked my MVP redo's by bringing up her favoriter player's, Alex Rodriguez, 2003 MVP win. Hey I thought it was funny. But then treble, our resident Toronto Blue Jay fan, made this post: Well obviously I have to settle this heated debate.   Given that it was less than three years ago, many probably remember the MVP debate from that year. A-Rod won the A.L. MVP despite playing on a Ragners team that lost 91 games. Obviously not his fault but as I talked about in the Award Redo: 1987 N.L. MVP entry it is very rare for a player on a last place team to win the MVP and many don't feel a player on a last place team deserves consideration for the MVP. The year before A-Rod lost out to the A's Miguel Tejada with the main reason being that Tejada was on a first place team and A-Rod was on a last place team.   2003 was the ideal year for a player on a last place team to win the award as there was no clear favorite. It is obvious by just looking at the results as ten different players would receive first place votes: A-Rod, Delgado, Jorge Posada, Shannon Stewart, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Nomar Garciaparra, Vernon Wells, Tejada, and Jason Giambi. Delgado did play on a winning team but not a first place team in Toronto. In a year when there is no clear favorite also some undeserving players get serious consideration. Most obvious was Shannon Stewart who received a groundswell of support late in the season after helping the Twins win the A.L. Central and was deservedly mocked by the stat geeks. Stewart finished the year with fewer Win Shares than A's closer Keith Foulke and I've already gone over before how hard it is for a closer to match the value of an everyday player. Another player who received way too much support was David Ortiz who only played in 128 games yet received four first place votes. His 15 Win Shares were by far the fewest of any player who received an MVP vote.   The A-Rod vs. Delgado debate of course was discussed on the TSM boards back in 2003 and this will be my second voting on the award. In this thread posters voted on all the MLB awards from 2003. As you'll see I was very anti-last place and anti A-Rod at the time although I've relented on my stance against players on last place teams winning the award since. Here was my ballot I posted on September 28, 2003: I was very much drinking the Miguel Tejda Kool-Aid at the time as in retrospect he really didn't deserve any consideration. So time to redo the real ballot and my ballot, but will I change my first place vote?   Actual Results 1) Alex Rodriguez 2) Carlos Delgado 3) Jorge Posda 4) Shannon Stewart 5) David Ortiz 6) Manny Ramirez 7) Nomar Garciaparra 8) Vernon Wells 9) Carlos Beltran 10) Bret Boone 11) Miguel Tejada 12) Bill Mueller 13) Jason Giambi 14) Garret Anderson 15t) Keith Foulke 15t) Frank Thomas 17) Eric Chavez 18t) Carlos Lee 18t) Magglio Ordonez 20) Alfonso Soriano 21) Derek Jeter 22) Pedro Martinez 23) Ichiro Suzuki 24t) Aubrey Huff 24t) Esteban Loaiza 24t) Jason Varitek 27) Mariano Rivera   #10 .307/.389/.522, 106 RC, 126 OPS+, .310 EQA, 64.1 VORP, 28 Win Shares   #9 .267/.390/.562, 117 RC, 149 OPS+, .317 EQA, 66.5 VORP, 23 Win Shares   #8 .290/.338/.525, 117 RC, 128 OPS+, .297 EQA, 69.9 VORP, 27 Win Shares   #7 .317/.359/.550, 133 RC, 131 OPS+, .303 EQA, 71.0 VORP, 26 Win Shares   #6 .281/.405/.518, 99 RC, 146 OPS+, .319 EQA, 61.5 VORP, 28 Win Shares   #5 .250/.412/.527, 112 RC, 151 OPS+, .326 EQA, 63.5 VORP, 28 Win Shares   #4 .294/.366/.535, 121 RC, 138 OPS+, .312 EQA, 75.9 VORP, 30 Win Shares   #3 .325/.427/.587, 141 RC, 160 OPS+, .339 EQA, 77.9 VORP, 28 Win Shares   #2 .298/.396/.600, 141 RC, 148 OPS+, .324 EQA, 96.3 VORP, 32 Win Shares   #1 .302/.426/.593, 140 RC, 160 OPS+, .338 EQA, 83.3 VORP, 32 Win Shares   Ya stick it A-Rod, you're not CLUTCH~! And god damn do baseball cards suck now or what?   Anyways this was an incredibly close call and I could have flipped a coin but I gave the nod to Delgado. There's a serious case for Manny as well.

3/25: Cable Guys, Tin Cans, Dead Pets

• I talked about Larry the Cable Guy a few days ago, and I’m going to do so again. I was flipping through channels last night and saw two interviews featuring him. The first one was on CMT; no surprise there. I had this on as background noise while cooking dinner, and the most interesting part was when I heard him say that he was a Reagan conservative. I guess that’s better than him not being one. But what really threw me for a loop was later on that evening when he was on Hannity & Colmes. Well, I’d rather listen to his jokes than most of the guests they have on that show. The highlight of that interview was when he talked to Alan. He said that when Colmes had his radio show in Orlando, that Larry was the guy who would call into his show, say “nobody cares what you think” and hang up. The sad thing is I believe this story. Oh, and he also called Bill O'Reilly a communist.   • Since I’m a retard when it comes to social etiquette and other hippies stuff like that, I’m not sure if I’m in the right or wrong when it comes to this very important issue. Long story short: The mother-in-law received a tin of cookies for Christmas from her one niece, who lives with her father’s family. About a week ago the niece who gave the cookies told the mother-in-law that her uncle who gave her the cookie tin wants it back. (I’m not even going to attempt to explain this family tree because it’s one of broken families that would take about 1,000 words for me to set up.) Now when you make cookies or some other baking concoction and present it in a tin, I’m always under the assumption that you give the tin away as well as what’s inside this container. Now if the person who does the giving asks for the tin back at the start of the transaction, that’s different, but what’s the point of giving someone a tin container if you are going to want it back later? Why not just give away the baked goods in some crappy throw-away Tupperware? Truly, this is one incident that will rock the very foundation of our society.   • This has been a bad week for pets. First a British stray cat that became a mainstay of the Prime Minister’s place died at 18 years of age, and now some turtle that was supposedly the pet of an officer in colonial India around the middle of the 18th century also passed away. Dang. 18 years for a cat and 250 for a tortoise? Can’t say they didn’t get their money’s worth on this planet.   • Man, if we ran elections like they do over in the Ukraine, which will have a voting ballot over two-feet long, well, let’s just say there will be a bunch of far-sighted Jews in Florida that will get disenfranchised. At least the good thing is that with all the names to choose from, they probably would have plenty of candidates to mistakenly pick from than just Pat Buchanan.   • Great, the Dixie Terrorists are coming out with another album. Much like their previous albums, I won’t care (I’m not a country music fan). However, I can’t wait to hear all the media hoopla about if their more conservative listeners will “forgive” them for the stuff they said back a few years ago about our Commander in Chief. You have the freedom to say whatever you want, but other people are also free to say “fuck you three bitches.”

Interest in wrestling

Since January 3rd, 2005 my wrestling watching has gone from a solid 100% down to 0. I never watch wrestling anymore. Not because I've lost interest, or don't like wrestling anymore. I don't have a VCR player, or a very good television. But, I've been compiling a list of matches and shows I want to get ahold of, mostly older 80's NWA, and old AJPW (pre-split).   NWA from the 80's and 90's AJPW are the greatest periods of wrestling, that I have seen. I'm gonna try and get into Joshi, again. I was turned off by it the first time, the screeching of the women is so annoying to me, eh.

ECW N2R 1997 Thoughts

Watched most of the PPV the last couple of days, and it wasn’t ECW’s best effort.   Mikey Whipwreck vs. Justin Credible was poor, and while they tried hard, it wasn’t enough to make the match anything other than sub-par. You had the usual run-in interference that plagued a lot of ECW matches, unnecessarily most of the time, with Jason hitting the ring and the referee just going along with it, which was an ongoing theme of the whole night.   Taz vs. Pitbull #2 was a squash to write out the Pitbulls as major players due to legal trouble they had gotten into earlier that year. They’d run their course as well and weren’t of any real value anyway, so it was no great loss. They were put with Lance Wright, he of Hype Central ‘fame’, with Lance doing a gimmick where he’d been sent to ECW at the command of Vince McMahon, and to this end, after the match, Brakkus showed up to face off with Taz, and the result saw Taz choke out a security guy who was keeping them apart. Paul Heyman was on color for this match, and screamed for the production guys to play anything they had at hand when the guard got choked out, trying to treat the incident as a shoot.   Tommy Dreamer vs. Rob Van Dam was a reasonably entertaining highspot match with both guys working hard and bumping hard. You had the interference as usual, but at least it made some sort of storyline sense, with run-ins from Sabu, Dan Kroffat and Doug Furnas, playing on the WWF vs. ECW theme, as well as the surprise return of Stevie Richards, who superkicked Dreamer. The match ended apparently in a no-contest, and with Van Dam, Kroffat and Furnas and Richards parading around a WWF banner. This saw Sandman show up and his match with Sabu followed.   Sandman and Sabu was a Tables and Ladders match, and has gained almost cult like status for being incredibly bad with an almost non-stop procession of botched spots. I can tell you right now that the match is nowhere near as bad as people have claimed over the years. I remember Dave Meltzer gave it -*** which I thought was grossly unfair back then and I think is just as unfair now. Don’t get me wrong, the match isn’t that good, and there are some badly blown spots, but it’s still above, just, the DUD zone, and far from the worst brawl you’ll see. It’s not the best brawl you’ll see either, but there are plenty worse out there. The match does go on a little too long, and would have done even had everything gone to plan, and the finish saw Sabu use a ladder for an Arabian press to get the pin.   The main event was Shane Douglas vs. Bam Bam Bigelow in a low rent version of Ric Flair vs. Vader from Starrcade ’93. The booking going into this match was all over the place. Douglas and Bigelow were top heels in the Triple Threat stable and the storyline at the time had Rick Rude, who was aligned with the Triple Threat, brining in outside names for Douglas to defend the ECW World title against, because Douglas wanted Rude to find the best international talent for Douglas to test his skills against. At a TV taping in New York, Rude reveals that Douglas’s opponent is Bigelow, turning both Bigelow and Rude instant babyface, and Bigelow pins Douglas for the ECW World title. However, with N2R taking place in Pittsburgh, which is the home state of Douglas, the big storyline of the PPV sees Douglas, a top heel, having to be a one night top babyface to play the hometown hero, while Bigelow, now a top babyface, having to be a one night top heel.   The match itself wasn’t very good and Bigelow, who was pretty good in Japan, looked terrible here. Bigelow, playing the Vader role, controlled most of the match and it was painful to watch because he didn’t do much for the first 10 minutes other than punch, kick or headbutt Douglas around. Things sort of picked up as the match wore on, and there were some decent spots somewhere in all the mess, but the match wasn’t even a house show quality main event let alone a PPV quality main event, and if Douglas or Bigelow were looking to show they were better, or even as good as, Flair and Vader, then to say they failed miserably would be an understatement. Had N2R been somewhere else and they just wrestled a normal match, with no hometown hero storyline, then it might have been decent. Instead, we got a 25 minute match that felt like 45 minutes and just never went anywhere.

3/24: TV Police Chases, EA Franchise Updates

• There are a lot of things in this world that piss me off, but in the grand scheme of things most of these things are nothing I lose sleep over. However, there are a few things that truly get me mad. One of them is when a police officer is involved in a shooting, and some shitbag lawyer or ACLU-type bitch complains that the cop had to shoot and kill the suspect. Usually, their reasoning is, “Well couldn’t the officer have shot the person in the arm or leg?” Another thing that just angers me to no end are these high-speed police chases. On Wednesday the FAUX NEWS REPORT (lol2006) spent half of the program broadcasting one of these pursuits taking place in California. Not only was this asshole suspected of Grand Theft Auto, but also he was going 80-90 mph in residential areas. I’m sure this asshole eventually got caught; I don’t care how great a person he was before this chase, but he should never see the light of day after trying to avoid the law and putting the lives of innocent motorists and pedestrians around him in danger. The said thing is if he would have gotten into an accident and killed someone, some people would blame the cops for chasing him. Anyone that starts one of these pursuits should be charged with attempted vehicular homicide or something for every car or pedestrian he or she passes. These people should never breath the sweet air of freedom for the rest of their miserable existence.   • This is why I hate picking games/tournament brackets/etc. I loathe the Duke Blue Devils, but I was hoping they’d win last night because I had them losing to Boston College in the Championship Game several rounds down the road in my bracket. Bastards.   • Last night I got to catch up on my video game playing. First I put in NHL ’06, where I was riding a humble one-game winning streak after losing six in a row (I’m in my first season in franchise mode, or whatever the hell it’s called). I can deal with losing, but each game I lost during this streak was by one goal, and several of them were lost in the last 20 seconds of the third period. I’m about seven points out of the playoff hunt. I’m only 20 or so games in the season, so I’m still trying to get used to the game play. However, last night I was dreading going up against the Florida Panthers, who are in first place in their division and had a 98-rated goaltender. To my surprise I won 5-3, although I almost blew a three-goal lead. (For the record, I play 5-minute periods at the hard, but not impossible, level with the penalty bar maxed out.) I’m not sure what to do with the Pens; I’m planning on dumping Sergei Gonchar before the trading deadline. He’s my best defenseman, but he’s also eating up a $5 million/year salary, and I’ll need that money to sign some of my younger players in the next year or so. I’m also torn on whether or not to trade Lemieux – I know he’s going to retire after this season, but damnit, he’s MARIO LEMIEUX! Besides, he’s the only center I have that’s any good, although Kraft does OK on the second line, especially when playing a Behind the Net offense scene. And, damnit, I’d be trading away MARIO LEMIEUX!   • After NHL ’06, I popped in Madden ’05 and lost against the Bengals for the second time this season. My running game was stuffed, although Maddox did have 370 yards passing, his best of the season so far. It was one of the more exciting games I had in recent memory, and if I have to lose a game this is the way I want to go out – 20-26 in OT. I had two chances to win in OT, but I couldn’t convert a 4th and 1 at their 38-yard line, and on my next drive I came up just short on a 53-yard FG attempt. (I recently started over with my franchise and have it at all-star setting with the penalties maxed out and 13-minute quarters.)

Stop looking for all the answers

I figured that If I'm going to randomly comment on people's blogs here, I might as well contribute some of my own chaotic or pointless observations/rants for others to mock.   I don't think anyone really cares about the particular details of who I am, because when it's at a internet message board, isn't everything really still anonymous? I am 20 years old, yet you couldn't convince me that being 20 is any different then being 17. I just have more things to pay for and the government has granted me the ability to die for this country for no true purpose (although, I wasn't even good enough to do that, according to the government. That's fine, I like being alive, despite it's flaws).   After I graduated from my conservative all white high school here. I took a year off from education because high school completely burnt me out. Besides, I knew where i was going to college and waiting a year wasn't going to alter my abilities to attend. I decided to be one of those "self-searching" fools, but in reality I was just escaping the fact I have to grow up and abandon childhood hopes and dreams. I continued to work and I sank into that role, I would idiotic hours. All my friends, the few I had from high school had already gone off to college and I started hearing from them less frequently. Around winter 2004, my phone stopped ringing and my AIM buddy list was nearly vacant.   I wasn't lonely or sad about the changes in my life, however. I was just discouraged by the lack of motivation. I was materialistic for awhile, i drowned myself in items like a new car, electronic upgrades and other pointless 'entertainment' novelties.   I had a jolt to my system, on January 11th. It was around 7:30, I had just finished a dinner that I cooked myself (god bless tv dinners) and I heard my cell phone ringing. At that point, hearing my cell ring was getting to be a rarity. I grabbed the phone and saw I had a txt message, but didn't know the number. I read the message and it was a simple message, someone asking where someone else was. I replied "you got the wrong number, sry"...   4 hours later, I was in love with the person who sent me the wrong txt message. In my life, prior to that moment, I had short and meaningless relationships (save for one special one, that had nearly crushed me to pieces). The girl, behind the messages was perfect. She was younger though, 16 to my 19 but that really didn't matter in my eyes.   We got to talking daily via txt, aim and the occasional talk and it was increasingly obvious this was the perfect girl, it seemed. I finally mustered the balls to arrange a meeting. She only lived 30 minutes from me. We met at her house, rain softly fell as our eyes collided for the first time. I lost myself in those green eyes of hers. She was physically indescribable. Tall, blond and athletic. The awkwardness, shuffled away as we talked. It was like we were already together for years, the chemistry was perfect.   the next seven months, it was the most intense and incredible piece of my life. I woke up with a voice-mail from her every day and I spend hours with her, My life was only for her. As this was going on, the two friends i really kept in touch with were equally going through difficult times. My best friend, her brother had just committed suicide(he was 23) and my other friend, had been involved in a car accident and broke her leg. She was confined to a wheelchair for a bit of time.   It was during this time, the realization of the fact I'm in this serious relationship, my friends are going through these rough times. Childhood? was thrown out the door.   My girlfriend and I, broke up. On our 8 month anniversary. She cheated. "I didn't mean to...It just happened". Did you regret it? I asked. "No". she whispered. So much for that happiness....   While this was going on, I finally went and enrolled into college. Miami University (Ohio). So, i was starting this monumential thing (college) on the heels of an ultimate emotional heartbreak. In my life, I always was the one to put a end to things, but this time I had my chips and I was all in...and I lost the hand.   The next six months, never really existed. I tried to move on, I dated others but I wasn't quite feeling like I ever really got her out of my system. Then, one night...it just went away. All thanks to one person and that was my best friend. Years of sexual tension and uncertain feelings finally reached a boiling point.   I still miss my ex, we still talk occasionally and she's happy with that same guy she left me for. I want to hate her guts for what she did to me, but I knew her and I know she did the right thing...   It's almost April 2006, and I'm so far away from childhood now. I have a cousin, who is 12. He is always asking me on advice on how to make his teenage years special.   I tell him "don't expect anything. your life will not be a fairy tale". As we all grow up, we expect the answers to reveal themselves, but they never really do. We learn them but never quite knew it and it brushes by us like a faint wind.

11. Meetings suck.

11.   Meetings do really suck. I have them all the time now with this job, and they're a huge fucking waste of time. Blathering on about how much money we're losing, blah blah... none of which has to do with me. One of the bosses tells me I'm doing a fine job. The end. A fine waste of an hour. Which I wouldn't complain about if we didn't have to stay after for them. And I'm sure those fucking Jews will send us home early tomorrow, so I don't get the lousy $8.50 for time + a half.   And then, the planned phone conversation with the family. Which is nothing but awkward. "Oh, we miss you!" I don't miss you. I'm in paradise, you're in hell. Go shovel some snow and catch pneumonia. And then to put me down... the scuzzy trash talks about all the kids they've having (despite being dirt poor), and I go on about how I'm single... and "blah blah blah, meet someone, you'll die alone and miserable, unlike me and my husband who beats me!". Whatever.   All this interrupted my hopeful watching of the Players' Championship today... but, it sucked, because it rained at Sawgrass for like the 10th straight year... making the course easy and boring. It's probably my favorite tournament of the year, though... mostly because I remembered every hole at Sawgrass when I was like 8, due to playing PGA Tour on Genesis so much. And I can't help but mark out when players go splashing on 17. And Adam Scott really needs to cut his hair. Cut your crap finally, and be my little pretty boy.   I've lost all interest in March Madness. My bracket have gone to hell. Only positive is I have LSU in some total luck point spread thing. I don't know to explain it properly... but, I could win money on that. So, whatevz. I was planning on using those winnings to finally buy a XBox 360... but, those plans are finished. And it's probably a good thing.   And Mimi is sick today. Cleaning kitty puke is very not fun. I probably have to take her to a new vet, soon... which is always a huge pain in the ass, since the Princess Mimi refuses to be picked up. I'm sure if she got to play with other cats... she'd be the snobby bitch of the group. Just like Mommy, I've taught her well.   That's all.   Leelee.

Fuck You Super Adventure Club!

Last nights episode of "South Park" was excellent. I basically have a feeling that the creators are done ripping on Scientology (which for now on will be known as Super Adventure Club, starting...now), which is ok. Plus, you can tell that they really are going to miss Isaac, though I hear he still performs "Salty Chocolate Balls" live.   Randy Orton changed his theme song briefly I hear. I don't watch Smackdown, so I really wouldn't know. At least he doesn't have Nickleback as his theme music.

3/23: The Best of RIGHT-WING RADIO (Part IV)

And down the final stretch I come. For those that don't know I'm commenting on people I know from this hippie list. If you want to read parts I-III then go to 3/11, 3/10, and 3/8.   I saw number 51 Doug McIntyre on Dennis Miller's short-lived CNBC show, and I liked him whenever he was on that Varsity panel.   52-53: Never heard of 'em.   Never listened to number 54's Mitch Album's radio show, but I see/hear him from time-to-time. That's enough for me.   55-60: Now I'm cruising – most of the rest of this list will probably be local people that aren't local in my market.   The only exposure I have received from the occupiers of the 61 spot (Bob & Tom) is from their television commercials. That is enough for me.   I don't hate Thom Hartmann, who is at 62, because he's a commie. I hate him because he was one of the people that were part of the "new" WPTT, which as a result bumped Boortz. Bastards. I listened to him once for about 5 minutes, laughed and switched back to Rush.   63-76: It says Tom Sullivan fills in for Rush, but with the exception of Walter Williams, I change the channel when there are fill-in hosts.   Now we're getting somewhere. Number 77 Fred Honsberger is a guy I have listened to on KDKA since 1994. When I was away from Shittsburgh from '99-'03, one of the few things I missed from that place was his radio show. "Honzman" is a perfect example of how local radio can compete with the evil CLEAR CHANNELS of the world. It's simple. Have an entertaining show. Fred's program goes up against Hannity in my market, and if Honsberger is taking calls from stupid union workers who loathe the Wal-Marts of the world, there is nothing more entertaining for my ears. Ever since WPGB started up, Fred's show has become a bit more "newsy," which means a lot more boring interviews. When this happens, I usually turn on Mark Madden's local sports show (Yes, that Mark Madden) or, if I'm feeling lucky, turn on Hannity and pray he's worth listening to for the next 20 minutes or so.   The second Shittsburgher on this list is number 78, Jim Quinn (with part-time sidekick Rose). I remember listening to this guy as a kid when he was a Top 40 DJ on some pop radio station called B-94 with a guy named Banana Don. Then Quinn got canned over some sexual harassment lawsuit by this chick that used to read the news. He then got on the RIGHT-WING RADIO bandwagon in the early '90s, when the market wasn't as saturated. Since then he has carved out a nice little niche for himself in the morning, and when he moved to WPGB after being on another station for a decade, he got a few more stations to broadcast his morning show from in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. The show itself isn't that great because most of what he does is read articles that other people wrote, but what else am I going to listen to early in the morning? Besides, he has this sound clip that he treats like Rush's old "caller abortions." It's the sound of someone ululating followed by an explosion; this sound clip was packaged as a key chain last year that was called the "Mobile Martyr," and yes, I bought one. The funny thing is this thing goes off whenever it wants, and there have been a few times I blew up a Palestinian youth when I didn’t mean to, much to the chagrin of some strangers around me.   Oh, and Quinn's old partner, Banana Don? He got canned a few years ago when Howard Stern moved to 93.7 FM.   79: Steve who? Next.   When I lived near Cincinnati, I didn't listen to number 80 Bill Cunningham, who was on WLW, a station I didn’t frequent (WKRC was my RIGHT-WING RADIO station of choice in Cincy), but I've heard him on Hannity's show as a guest, and I'd rather listen to Bill from 3-6 p.m. than Sean.   81-91: Dunno.   Like Cunningham, number 92 Mike McConnell was on WLW I didn't listen to him while living in Cincinnati. However, he also has this syndicated weekend show, and whenever I'm doing errands in the car, I make sure to tune him in. Good stuff.   93-95: Let’s skip Chip and friends.   The last person I know on this list is Bruce Williams (96), and I used to listen to him all the time while living in Sappy Valley. Basically, he's an old guy who gave all kinds of advice. My one former co-worker thought this would be an intellectual show, but in fact it was just the opposite. It was like Dr. Laura for people too cheap to get legitimate legal/financial assistance. There are two calls that I still remember after all these years. One dealt with a guy who wanted to buy a business from someone else (I think it was a pizza shop, but I’m not sure). He said that the seller claimed the business made a certain amount of money "on the books," which wasn't an impressive sum, but "off the books" it made a killing. He then asked Bruce if this was a good investment. Bruce responded with “So you’re going to take somebody’s word that his business, which is a failure on paper, makes money illegally?” Can’t remember what the caller said, but I don’t think he went with this investment opportunity. The other caller was some lady that got a $10,000 deposit in her bank account. She spent it all, and about a week later some bank from Canada told her the deposit was a mistake and that they wanted the money back. Bruce said to the lady, "Do you always spend money that's in your account which you didn't put there?" Her answer? "Yes."   97-100: The End.   Now there were a bunch of names off this list that were mentioned, but I don't feel like talking about any of them. Although I have to note that Lynn Cullen, a local Shittsburgh personality, isn't on this list -- so, WPTT, you took off Boortz, who's ranked NUMBER NINE on this list for someone who isn’t even featured? Go to hell, you joke of a radio station. Hell yeah I'm still bitter about this.   And also, why isn't Paul Harvey on this list?! The guy's more than 80 years old and is still pimping.

10. Damned foreign languages.

10.   So, it was another routine day of work... me typing up lots of letters and just into pretty databases. Then, in the afternooon, I become like the Spanish specialist. I've always been really against how the US is forcing all of us to learn Spanish. Took about 10 years of it in school, and I only know the most basic words. It feels so unnecessary, and still does, despite me moving to Arizona. So, I have to type up a ton of letters in the afternoon... which took me forever to do. And create stuff in the database, which was even more fun since I was lost on where to sort things. Please, just give me stuff I can read. I type it in 110wpm, and I play online a lot during it. Fin. Next thing I know, I'll be forced to take more Spanish lessons... and answer in Spanish on the phones. Ugh.   I finally joined a tennis league here, this evening at the local pretty club. Was about time. I need to back into better shape. And I miss the competitive feelings I used to have. With being able to play outside here, practically every day of the year... I really miss being a tennis instructor now. Oh well.   Not much else... watched crap on TV...   South Park season opener was one of the worst episodes I've seen in a while. I'm sure many are loving it, because of the shots to Isaac, and Scientology... but they dragged the joke on FOREVER. Wasn't funny. Only decent part was the ending. Quite disappointing, since I was really looking forward to this, after watching nearly every season in the break since Season 9 ended. Watched some of American Idol, too... basically to see Kathi. And the little kid got eliminated, finally. Good for all parties. I really felt bad for the kid, and how they strung him along. I don't care that he played along with it, and maybe even got cocky because of it, it's still cruel.   Might as well respond to some comments here...   To be honest, I really don't like reading them. Especially if they're going to be mean-spirited like I expect some will be.     Not really. I know nothing about baseball. I hate it. A lot.     And the Shitty Leafs should have won the last Stanley Cup!     Ok, I'll add you. But, before you think I'm rude, I REALLY hate talking on those things. It takes me a long time to warm up. And I will annoy you with my snobbishness.   Most people don't dislike me at The Pit. It's only a handful there that I don't get along with. Plus, I'm far too wiling to get into fights with people.   I'm about 6'2. And 22 years old. I'm definitely awkward and uncoordinated. I really wish I wasn't so tall... really think I could have made a decent career out of tennis if I was more athletic. But, such is life.     I definitely don't think I'm ugly. I wouldn't show pics of myself if I thought that. But, you know, I constantly worry about that stuff. Like every female. Blah.     I so thought you were going to flame me. I shouldn't be so negative.   Well, I don't really watch wrestling anymore. The last thing I watched was Royal Rumble, and Christian's title win. I haven't watched Raw or SD since I can't remember. And I'd rather watch paint dry before watching Impact again. I just like to follow what's going on, so I can bitch about it.   Don't play much video games lately, either. Working full-time has really killed that. Plus, a modded XBox hurts, also. Can get all games for free... but, with it being a huge entertainment system, games become secondary.     I shouldn't have said this board is that awful. It's still definitely one of the best boards I visit. But, things just irritate me. Everything irritates me.     Just search "WinFixer" on Google. I already found lots of stuff on the first page. It's a fairly well-known adware program, and you should find a fix somewhere.     That's sweet of you. But, if people like/dislike me, I don't worry about it. I just like to fight with the people who do dislike me. I have weird ways of having fun.   And every time I say this, people disagree... The last thing I want is attention. If I really wanted everyone to like me, I'd play nice with everyone, and have tons of people messaging me on IM. I talk with just about nobody from this board, which surprises people for some reason.     Sorry, but I don't know who you are. I forget names very easily. But, I'm also psycho! And I love Alexis Laree! We should get along then.   There, I think I caught up. This entry will be really long.   I need sleep now... and tomorrow promises to be a crazy day. Ugh.

3/22: Keeping/Losing Your Head In A Situation

• So I was heading out from work today when I heard about a potential sniper in some building in downtown Shittsburgh, effectively paralyzing the city. Great. And I had to go downtown to pick up the better half from her job. I pulled into a gas station and filled up the tank, expecting to be in gridlock for some time while trying to get around the Fort Pitt tunnels, which had been shut off, according to news reports. Then when I got back in the car, I heard that all was resolved. Apparently, some guy had been shooting pigeons with a pellet gun. I can’t wait until this makes its way around the wires, if it hasn’t already. Instead of making some smart-ass remark, I’m going to defend the city/county police. According to local news reports, the police handled this situation well, so I’ll tip my cap to my favorite city to rag on. Actually, I’ll take it a step further and say that the newly elected mayor, Bob O’Connor, seems like a decent guy, and I hope he can turn the financial woes of Shittsburgh around. Sure he’s a Democrat, but when you’re dealing with urban areas, you pretty much have to take what you can get.   Truth be told, not only am I hopeful that O’Connor will do a good job, but I also like the Democrat Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato. Ever since he got elected a few years ago, he’s seemed like a stand up guy and hasn’t been afraid to appear on local talk shows and debate/discuss regional issues; he's even managed to piss off some of the local Democrat machine by trying to streamline county government, a promise he made on the campaign trail. If he would run for governor, I might consider switching my registration so I could vote for him in a primary against that asshole Ed Rendell. Onorato won’t make me want to buy a house in Allegheny County, but he’s a great start.   • On the other side of police efficiency, the Florida Corrections Department put a former minor league baseball player on the payroll in a no-show job so that he could help prison guards win a softball tournament, according to investigators. If this were one of those guards/inmate contests, wouldn’t it have been easier to take away the prisoners’ weights for a month or so prior to the game?   • A bus maintenance worker in Los Angeles is calling it quits at his job – at 100 years of age. According to the article, this guy worked at this place in 1924-1928, left and returned in 1934, and has been there ever since. The scary part? No, it’s not that he was a bus driver (he wasn’t); during all this time he has missed only one day of work.   • Now this was … interesting.     If the guy cut off his member and was still going strong, I’m surprised a Taser was able to slow him down. Goddamn. Apparently the reason he sliced off his johnson was because of trouble with his girlfriend. I don’t think things got any better after that, unless wanting to be a eunuch was his original intent.   • I don’t know what to think of this chick that banged her 14-year old student. I guess what leaves a sour taste in my mouth is that if it was a male teacher who did this to a female student, we wouldn’t be hearing about how the guy has a bipolar disorder and wants to start a journalism career so “he can express himself in writing." This guy accused would be beating the feminazis back with a stick, and I wouldn’t blame these ravenous harpies for wanting his hide. The person I really feel for is this crazy chick’s husband; not only do we now know that he wasn't able to get the job done in the bedroom, but also that she preferred some kid who isn’t old enough to drive a car over him.

I <3 Mickie James

It's official, I love the Mickie vs. Trish feud. Mickie is a decent worker, pulls off the psycho stalker character well, and is a diva who actually gets heel heat. Plus, the feud makes sense, and isn't being forced down our throats like the other feuds on Raw. Of course, WWE will find a way to fuck it up, but for now, I'm happy.   I still don't get the point of the Shawns vs. Vince feud. So far, it seems like it's because Vince for some reason wants Shawn to go back to his hard partying days, and that Shawn wants Vince to get over the Montreal incident. I'm sorry, but that doesn't make a good feud. It's just Vince playing the Mr. McMahon character that got old years ago.   Last nights season finale of The Shield kicked my ass in all kinds of ways. I was silent for a long time, thinking to myself "Shane, you Mother Fucker". It took Bush messing up counting to three on Letterman to snap out of it.

9. I was halfway through with my latest entry...

9.   Then, this happens:   http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=78468   Oh, Lordy.   THIS is the shit I LIVE for on message boards.   Since I've (somewhat) matured, and most of the Internet has matured as well... it's been a long time since I got one of these. One of those posts that I can look back on every day for months, and just laugh.   Thank you, Damian. I knew you were capable of spreading such joy.   That's all for this entry... I better copy Damians' joy for safe keeping.   "The Gloves are off, motherfucker.   I've gone out of my way to pretty much cut you out of my existence for the last 2 or 3 years or so and your ass continues to come back, so fuck it. This will be theraputic.   I'm gone from pure anger towards you, to indifference, to just being goddamned annoyed by you lately.   What the fuck makes you so special?   Out of about 500+ guys that post on the board, you seem to attract the most attention simply because of the fact that you have a vagina and this is probably the closest that a lot of guys would get to associating themselves with a psycho bitch like yourself.   Guys, there's tons hotter, most of whom aren't racist pieces of shit who are actually a lot hotter and dont have their heads all gassed up, like this crazy attention whore.   Anyway,   I hope your doctors have gotten the most they can out of the research money theyve been able to come up with to deal with your bipolar, mental disorders and if not...then hopefully one day, the medical industry will do us all a favor and make sure you don't reproduce.   Goodbye, Bitch.   Dames"   I might have another entry tonight.   Luvz u, blog.   Leelee.

3/21: A Vet Of Pet Roundups And Avoiding Accidents

Today we had to take Dessa to the vet. Having done this for about seven years now, the better half and I have devised an efficient way to round up whoever needs to go and get their shots. A while back I read somewhere that cats can understand a few words, and if this is indeed the case, “time to go to the vet” has to be one of those familiar phrases. Every time one of them has to go in the carrier, they all seem to have a sixth sense that something is up.   Most of the time when we get home from work, the three of them get up from the spots where they spent the day sleeping and meet us at the front door, hoping we will go into their feeding room and give them some Meow Mix. However, today JJ was under the dining room table, Dessa was under the living room coffee table, and Max was behind some chairs under the kitchen island. And none of them wanted to move. While Mrs. kkk rounded up the unlucky kitty, I went downstairs to get the carrier, which is large enough to comfortably fit a medium-sized dog. After getting confirmation that the target has been picked up, I picked up this contraption. This is when the fur hits the fan. The two cats that aren’t tied up make a beeline for underneath a bed, either in the master bedroom on the first floor or upstairs in the spare bedroom. The cat that is picked up tries to get away, but to no avail (usually – JJ can sometimes wrestle away if given enough space). Once we drop the contained cat into the carrier, they start immediately with the crying, like that’s going to make a difference. “You know, Max, we were going to take you to the vet for your rabies and distemper shots, but after that last whimper you convinced us otherwise.”   Fortunately, Dessa checked out with a clean bill of health, but she could have been in much worse shape on the trip back home. I’m a pretty defensive driver, and one thing I HATE is when another motorist is trying to direct you when they have no control on impending traffic. A good example of this is when you are at a stop light at a four-way intersection and want to turn left. Across from you is a motorist in the left lane of their two-lane road and is waving you on to turn. There’s just one problem: YOU CAN’T SEE WHAT IS COMING IN THE OTHER LANE! These people are the embodiment of liberalism. They have good intentions, but if you follow their path you will surely regret it.   Well, this sort of thing happened to me on the way home from the vet. While driving along the left lane of Rt. 30 West, which is a two-lane highway, I noticed this vehicle in the right lane that had its right blinker on and had slowed down to a near halt. As my eyes were focusing back on the road, I noticed the motorist was making a “waving” gesture, and suddenly I realized this person was probably letting someone pull out. I slammed on the brakes. There was no screeching or the smell of burnt rubber, but there might as well have been. Suddenly this old guy in a red four-door car pulled out in front of me and the bitch that had waved him out. Had I not stopped, I would have plowed into him head-on because he was trying to cross our two lanes to get on Rt. 30 East.   I wasn’t mad at him as much as I was pissed off at the person who said it was OK for him to pull out in oncoming traffic. It wasn’t worth shouting at this bitch because my windows were up and she was already halfway into her turn to the parking lot when I snapped out of my “Christ this could have been a bad accident” trance.   On a side note, while we were at the vet, I couldn’t help but laugh at this black lab that was freaked out by having to be in the vet’s waiting room. You could tell he didn’t want to be there because his tail was in-between his legs and he wasn’t walking but rather being slid across the linoleum floor by his owner. But when his owner took a seat, the dog sniffed the lady next to him, and just like that his tail was wagging and he was having a great time being petted. Of course with Dessa all she does is just sit there and pout in her carrier; even when we take her back home, she bolts out of the carrier and hides under a bed for a couple of hours. The two males we have aren’t as bad, but they won’t be mistaken for that black lab anytime in the near future.

8. An insomniac's rant.

8.   I stay up far too late. It's 1130pm now, and I have to get up at 630. Not good. I trained myself at a young age to only sleep 4-5 hours a night, due to various issues. I'm going to have ugly bags under my eyes by 25.   I do nothing at these late hours, also. Blab on with the few friends on AIM I haven't blocked yet. Continue my awful obsession with poker... although, it's a lot easier to quit when I don't play with real money. That's something I never want to get back into again. Even though I made out pretty nicely.   I really need a new TV. It's a pain in the ass hooking up the XBox to my monitor. Damn XBox is heavy in my fragile hands. And the top always comes off because I couldn't fit the wires in after modding it. How I love my modded XBox. It's entertainment bliss. It's more great reason for me to waste hours indoors, watching lots of crap, and playing with little Mimi.   It seems like everyone at The Pit hates me. Which I don't mind. I never want people to like me. I'm a horribly insecure person always afraid of being hurt. And people online love to lie, especially to a person like me. When people lie, I seriously want to stab them. And everyone does. This is why I hate people. And, I'm probably going to be banned there. No biggie, again. It's basically Malibu franchise territory. Don't want to bother with people like that. Unless it's to troll and piss him off.   I hate being so tall. It makes me look so different. Like even in my avatar, I look so lanky and awkward. Always been that way. And since I'm old and can't play sports much anymore, it's not an advantage. Just a hindrance. And will likely lead to lots of back pain in my future. Well, such is life.   That should be enough. Mimi is bugging me. She always wants to play. I probably don't give her enough attention. The Princess gets what she wants.   Fin.

Eh, looks like my tournament dreams are over.....

Yeah, like totally, my brackets are beyond fucked up, it's gotten so ridiculous. I usually do pretty well at this stuff too, heh.   My sweet sixteen, elite eight, final four, and the championship game rounds have been altered, a lot.   Missed the sixteen: UNC - Ohio St. - Kansas - Nevada - Iowa - Illinois   Eliminated from the eight: UNC - Ohio St. - Kansas   Not going to show up for the four: UNC - Ohio St.   Unauthorized absence from the champ game: UNC   Eh, looks like I'm waiting for next year.

Music Update II

Well, I finished off listening to the CD's I recently bought. Here's my Quick thoughts.   Massive Attack-Blue Lines-Great Stuff. It's not as good as Mezzanine (aka the greatest Trip-Hop album ever recorded) but it's still great. There's a bit of a hip hop feeling to it, which i really like.   Richie Hawtin-Decks, EFX, and 909-This is awesome. A continuous mix of minimal techno, with repetative beats and rhythms, all seemlessly put together for a great listening experience. One of the Best DJ Mix CD's I've ever heard, slightly beaten out by Coldcut's 70 Minutes of Madness.   Finally, it seems like I might be a member of Clique B in the Hardcore discussion. So, If I'm in Clique B, and Czech isn't, then what does that make Leena?

7. Bitching about TSM.

7.   This board is truly awful, and I have no idea why I'm still here.   The sports section is impossible to post in without wanting to beat all these assholes in the head. The vast majority... which I'm not even going to try to name... are impossible to post conversations with. Not because some here aren't knowledgeable... there's a few on both sides of that fence. But, so many people assume they are right, and will post to say how right they are, or be a rude asshole that points out how stupid others are. No conversation. No bantering of thoughts or opinions or ideas. Just the same spew which gets difficult to read. It's like constantly posting to yourself in there.   And never mind how many sexist people we have on this board. Yeah, I know, I go on about this a lot... but, it's true, and most of you realize it.   The sports section isn't as bad as the wrestling section, though. If anyone has read HTQ's blog... you know it's pointless to post anything about wrestling on this board. No need to go further on that.   Will this ever change? I highly doubt it. The mere fact that HTQ is still an admin here says change will never happen. Hell, look at the mods who post in the sports folder. Al Keiper? KingPK? A pompous guy who thinks he knows it all (and does about baseball, at least)... and an antisocial dork that shot down many of my prior posts because he's a rude grouch.   And the off-topic sections are struggling, also. But, that's always silliness.   My point is that the general attitude on this board is horrible. Which is a shame since we have a large community here. Everyone feels like they have to fight to get their point across. Oh well. I have enough other places and buddies to chat sports with.   I'll probably bitch about something else in 8.
