  1. It isn't based on one individual comic story, but most resembles Superman and Batman #1-6 (collected as the "Spuerman and Batman: Public Enemies" trade paperback ($12.99)).
  2. http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/07/14/cia...s.ap/index.html I highlght my favorite part. What'd they think people would think Rove was talking about one of Wilson's OTHER wives?
  3. I have to admit there's a certain amount of entertainment value to a right-wing Supreme Court. For example, the religous conservatives trying to explain why a return to mandatory school prayer didn't automatically increase classroom discipline the way they've been claiming it would. Or seeing a few hundred pro-life poltiicians get voted out of office once Roe v. Wade is inevitably overturned.
  4. Did that book come out a whole year ago? **pulls out personal copy** The cartoon in question appears on page 160, below a parody of a Doonsebury strip (which is just four static panels of a drawing of the White House with no captions). Above the fake Mallard Fillmore cartoon, this caption appears: The cartoon itself says: The cartoon is dated October 1, 1998 (Nothing particularly deragogatory there, except pointing out that the strip reads more like conservative indoctrination than an attempt at humor.) On the opposite page there's a Mad Magazine fold-in of Richard Nixon. On page 159 there's a fake Peanut's cartoon, with Lucy telling Pig Pen (who is holding a copy of "Socialist Worker"): "You're looking a little dirty there, comrade!" The fact that Fillmore's readers thought any of this was real kind of says something about Fillmore's readers...doesn't it? No, its not real. Nor are the naked pictures of the Supreme Court Justices. Morons.
  5. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2005_/arti.../1121351430.php This gets better and better.
  6. Goodfellas 1999?
  7. Didn't he loose his law license, though? Not to mention the whole perjury thing... Looks like Bush might get two picks soon... http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/07/13/rehnquis...alth/index.html
  8. Did anybody else buy it? I'm wondering if anyone else had the same reaction to the first issue that I had.
  9. No, I didn't see that. That kid who got cut in the first episode was singlehandedly setting public perception of gay people back 5 years everytime he spoke. I thought he was going to cry when they took away his cell phone.
  10. Except Kurt Angle doesn't work for TNA, and I'm not sure who in TNA they could substitute for Angle. Anyone. As much as we all hate Jeff Jarrett, he is an effective heel and would've worked fine if he was willing to let Haas win the feud. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nevermind. I thought you were talking about having Haas beat Angle at the 3 minute Invitational and getting his medals, not the part about getting his armbands slashed. He could probably still use it.
  11. It was two years ago, actually, so your "gave Cena as much as he's given anybody in a while" comment is a lot longer than you think.
  12. Except Kurt Angle doesn't work for TNA, and I'm not sure who in TNA they could substitute for Angle. _________________ I found this interesting... The creative team's motto: "Never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity." Funny how much Haas sounds like one of those 12 year-old internet jack-offs on their parents' computer who don't know what they're talking about.
  13. I'd makr out if he called him "Y2Jerk". 'Cause, you know...

  15. I just realized its been a while since we had a Cena-bashing thread. If that means people have been storing up their Cena hated for a while, so this should get good....
  16. Now that THAT'S over, its time for an update.... http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/07/12/sco...h.ap/index.html I love that quote from Laura Bush towards the end. CAN NO ONE IN WASHINGTON SPEAK WITHOUT SOUNDING LIKE A CAMPAIGN AD THESE DAYS?
  17. Raymore, Missouri. And I'm not just saying that because that's where I just moved. No siree, Bob.
  18. I think this problem could be avoided if more people waited a year or so before entering college in the first place. I worked my ass off in college because I'd spent the previous year working my ass off for $6.25 an hour and didn't want to spend the rest of my life that way. Having the real world slap you in the face with its dick is an awesome motivator.
  19. But it does kind of speak ill of Marvel that their big summer cross-over event is YET ANOTHER alternate universe story, because good lord we haven't seen enough of those in the last 10 years.
  20. Why even have anyone return at all if they're not going to take full advantage of it? I don't think anybody's sitting at home saying, "I'm going to watch Raw tonight because they might have a surprise guest." I think people still assume that the big matches, like Flair vs. Angle, are going to be hyped ahead of time.

  22. Raw Ratings http://411mania.com/wrestling/news/newsboa...p?news_id=12093 Dear WWE, Viewers are not psychic. They have no way ahead of time to know to tune in for some exciting stuff if you don't tell them. Maybe if you fuckers would advertise what people would be on the show, you'd get a better rating. In the last few weeks you sprung us with Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, and Matt Hardy, not to mention an unadvertised match between Ric Flair and Kurt Angle. The only time you gave us any warning was the week AFTER Hulk Hogan actually returned, and all you told us was to tune in to watch him be interviewed on the 4th of July. What else have you asked viewers to tune in for? The Diva Search and a Kane/Edge rematch. Yawn. As it stands right now, you're not capitalizing on your product's strenghts. Please pull your colelctive heads out of your asses and recognize your marketing strategy is counter-productive. Sincerely, Y2Jerk P.S. Please continue to keep Triple H off of TV. The low ratings are NOT an indication he should return, although I'm sure when he does you'll hype the hell out of it.
  23. I know you don't agree that the segment was in bad taste, but are you trying to play the angle off as a run of the mill heel faction beatdown? If so, you're showing a supreme ignorance of current events.
  24. That makes up for two weeks without any matches at all, doesn't it?
  25. Depp as Wonka reminds me of Michael Jackson for some reason.
