Paul Heyman's comments to Stephanie McMahon are way besides the point. The issue at hand here is the ratings and how to get the ratings up. You do that by putting forth a compelling show that is booked well. Paul Heyman has proven time and time again, in almost any situation that he can take a roster of wrestlers and make a good storyline. If Vince wants a better booked product, he has Paul Heyman, who by the way is getting paid by WWE currently, at his helms. Vince can choose to keep him at home because he makes the rest of the creative team "uncomfortable" or he can go up to every single one of them and ask them, "What in the flying fuck have you booked decently lately" and get a big kick out of the dead silence he will get in return that no one has an answer. Maybe, I dunno just MAYBE, the rest of the creative team should have a little more respect for Heyman, who can actually book worth a damn, instead of running around like an inner circle of highschool girls and bad-mouthing him to the boss behind his back. Maybe when Heyman has good ideas, and they KNOW IT, they should stand in unison with Heyman when confronted by Steph and Vince, instead of caving like the little bitch yes-men they come off as. I will never argue that Paul Heyman is easy to work with, and can't be a prick at times, but WWE is basically boring as fuck right now and he is the best option out there, and he is already on the goddamn payroll.

I am beyond trying to even debate with people about why this Occupation(even calling it a war anymore is a joke) should be ended. Everytime I turned on C-Span and a republican was speaking all I heard was "Al Qaeda this" and "Al Qaeda that" but no one seemed to want to ask them just what in the hell this occupation has to do with Al Qaeda in the first place. It just feels like the run-up to the 2004 election all over again. The Democrats not wanting to play hardball, while the Republicans continue to mix fantasy with reality and bring forth outright intellectually dishonest arguments.

.....yet Paul Heyman sits at home, collecting a pay check for virtually doing nothing but sitting on his couch.

What Would It Take You To Stop Watching WWE Programming
NoCalMike replied to Nate's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't really watch anymore, because the things I dislike most about prowrestling are pretty much what is driving the product right now and until Vince finds himself with some real competition again, things won't change because the prowrestling fan youth will be brought up thinking WWE's style of doing everything is the way it is SUPPOSED to be. -
I am seeing it. I am sure it will be a hell of a lot funnier then it will get credit for.

My parents were robbed at gunpoint when the owned a postal express store(think Mail Boxes Etc). The guy was pretty subtle about, just kind of flashed the piece, and had them empty the register.

"Sprint ditches customers who complain too much"
NoCalMike replied to Only The Strong Survive's topic in Technology
I happen to have Sprint, and I don't really have any complaints. I have compared prices, and I do think Sprint's rates are a little higher then the competition for what you get out of it, but at the same time the service itself has never done me wrong. I don't really do anything fancy with my phone besides their Vision plan, and my bill is pretty much the same every month. With that said, I have heard nightmares about Sprint's customer service. A lot of the complaints I have heard, are from people that get over-charged or flat out charged extra for features that are supposed to be included in their plan, so they end up calling and getting the charges taken off, but the person fails to eliminate it for the future, so basically every single month they go through the same routine, and it never changes no matter what rep they talk to, even if it goes to second-level help. It's almost like they hope the person just gets fed up with calling, gives in, and pays the charges. -
I think he was speaking in regards to the general population/casual fan. Many of those only know Tito, Chuck, Rampage, Randy, Forrest, Hughes, & Franklin. It would be like getting NASCAR tickets and expecting to see Gordon, Jr., Stewart, etc. and finding out that it's the Busch series race where maybe 2 or 3 of those big names appear. To us, we follow the sport and so guys like Silva, Sherk, Evans, Nog, etc. as stars and consider it star power. Exactly. I think a lot of us overlook the simple fact that I'd say at least 75% of people that watch MMA in America are merely watching to see a big KO. The sport will grow, and people will start to appreciate the other aspects of the sport, but right now, the commercials and highlight reels are what is selling the sport, and what does 90% of the promos/ads feature? Vicious knockouts. Like it or not, I think a lot of UFC "fans" still don't understand or appreciate "2 guys rolling around on the ground all over each other"

I am not sure how true that report about Sacramento is, I mean UFC was just here a few months back when George St. Pierre beat Matt Hughes, and whatever Dana White saw in Sacramento, it certainly made him come back pretty quick. Also, for fucks sake, $500+ is a lot for floor seats, just to sit on the very top of the lower section is $250. I had $150 seats and was about 2 rows back in the upper deck, which for Arco Arena, equals good seats. Not that I am trying to gloss Sacramento or anything. Although, I would say that this card was pretty low on "star power". I mean, personally I loved the show, but I also watch the sport more avidly then joe schmo who probably knows Tito Ortiz because he shoots his mouth off alot. The quality of fights/fighters on the card was very good, but "star power" was lacking, which doesn't bode well for a crowd full of casual fans. When Tito Ortiz came out, it was apparent he was the "star" of the show....I think a lot of people that were initially cheering for him were cheering because that happens to be the guy they knew from TV, and as the fight went on, that effect wore off...... With all that said....yeah it would suck if UFC didn't come back....I would cry, hard.

What if the Oakland A's Front Office doesn't dismantle the dynasty of '72-74 after they win their third World Series in a row?.......how many more World Series would that team have won? If Joe Theisman doesn't get his legs broken by LT......is he still the starter in '87....does he lead the Skins to the Superbowl win in 87 or was that just a magical year for Doug Williams? The Sacramento Kings make their free throws in game 7 against the Lakers.....was it pretty much a lock they win the NBA title if they make it past the Lakers?
-
I do blame the crowd somewhat, but I also attribute it to MMA being a relatively "new" sport, that is on the rise. With that, you always will get a mix of the hardcore fans that know a thing or two about the sport, and then the casual fans who think they are there to watch a more glossy version of The Toughman challenge....

Metallica singer detained at airport
NoCalMike replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in Current Events
He's been terrorizing radio stations for a good 15 years now. -

I got a better idea... all you fuckers can go spend an extra bit of cash and come down to Anaheim and visit my sorry ass for UFC 76 at Honda Center. EDIT: Link to the death With gas prices the way they are, it might be better just to fly....plane tickets to SoCal are pretty cheap....would you be willing to pick me up/drop me off at the airport? Also...is UFC 76 offering $50 seats?
-
The part where the guy fell to his death...if you look at the picture from the link, that is where Dana White and Chuck Liddell walked in together(through those exact doors) after they pulled up to the arena....as they were letting the crowd in, we looked over that retaining wall and saw them, people shouted their names, and they posed a bit for a few pics.......Something scary, about a 1/3 of the way into the show, some guy in my section was dizzy-drunk and trying to walk down the stairs and he barely made it....everyone was joking "man, that guy aint making it back up the stairs" and he never did make it back up...I am not sure if that was him that died, but I am 100% certain he never came back up to his seat unless he took a different route back.

Hey does anyone know the name of Anderson Silva's entrance music, and if can be downloaded anywhere?

Note to the NoCal crew: All you fuckers better save your money for the next time UFC comes to town.....seeing UFC live is the fucking shit, so this goes out to Ced, Dangerous A, Darrick, Zach, Garrett...and anyone else that comes to my house for the MMA PPVs.....save your goddamn money for a ticket next time.....I had so much fun that it almost made me weep that I missed UFC last time it was here (when George St. Pierre beat Matt Hughes)

I was kind of late in seeing this, but I finally did. Hilarious. What more needs to be said. I actually think it was better then 40-year old virgin.

What would it take to make you interested in the WWE again
NoCalMike replied to iggymcfly's topic in The WWE Folder
They need to rebuild Heels into monsters that don't lose under normal circumstances. Right now they create monsters merely to feed Cena on the next PPV. Guys like Umaga and Khali are marginalized far too early into their gimmicks by jobbing clean so soon. -
In the arena? Umm...not that I am aware of. I mean you'd think if that happened there would have been a stoppage or delay or massive amounts of EMT swarming.....are you joking?
-
So yeah, it is the morning after the show(well actually afternoon after) and I had a blast. Some notes: - Kenny Florian's match was last(after the Main Event) I am not sure how it come off on the PPV though. - These huge screens the are hung up in the rafters to let the crowd watch what is going on in the octagon, caused 4 sections to be shut down, all of which were $50 and $150 seats. That kind of sucks, because most people can't afford the $250 and up seats, and this would have allowed at least 1000(probably more) more people attend the show - I got my picture taken with the Tapout guys(well two of them, Mask didn't come off the bus, he just came to the front and said hi) - We saw Liddell and Dana White pull up to the arena just as they were letting the crowds in. - The crowd was probably 50/50 on Tito/Rashad. There dueling "Tito Tito" and "Tito sucks" chants - Like typical american crowds, if they weren't familiar with the fighters, they always cheered the american - I was shocked at the ovation Nog got, and kind of shocked he survived after that kick. It looked like Herring failed to capitalize because the kick was more reactionary. - For dark matches, the fighers came out of the same entrance, but for the PPV they came out from opposite directions. - I am not sure why in the hell 'Shad did not engage the entire time. If watching tape of Tito shows anything, he hates to be pressured. 'Shad basically was fighting Tito's fight, and managed to get a draw because he decided to press Tito with a minute or so to go after a mostly uneventful 3rd round. - Sherk vs. Penn & Cro-Cop vs. Nog announced (if Cro-Cop wins his next fight) in November If you have any questions let me know.............oh yeah, $9.25 for a 24oz Mickeys...you know the ones that cost like $1.25 at the store....LOL.

NoCalMike replied to iggymcfly's topic in The WWE Folder
I barely watch now. My DVR is set to record, but sometimes I look online at the results first to see if I even want to watch it. I'd say the first step would be stop pushing roid monsters that can't work.
