  1. I'm going to see Walking Tall in little under an hour, so I'll have everything ready to go (new topic, comprehensive guides and mock drafts) by midnight PST...at the latest.
  2. He's been gone for over three weeks. "Mrs. Disembodied Voice" explained that he was on "vacation", so who knows when he'll be back.
  3. Representing my finely-tanned peeps, I'll take Portugal.
  4. I'll say Just Jack - Snowflakes.
  5. I think I remember asking Barron to heckle TBS for me at Survivor Series 2002...
  6. My top five... 5. Reparations 4. World Series of Poker 3. Law & Order: Tron 2. Racial Draft 1. True Hollywood Story: Prince & Rick James Those THS skits may be the funniest due to their replay value, but the Racial Draft actually had me doubled over in tears after the Asians drafted.
  7. A bit simple in terms of effects... Right-click and save as... (here's the file in download form)
  8. 1138.5 a few minutes ago. My best before that was somewhere in the upper 800's.
  9. Yes. It definitely depends on how quickly we get through the first and second round. At most, with the pace we went at last year, there will be three complete rounds.
  10. Once all of the teams are completely represented, I'm sending warning PM's to everyone so that we can start the draft on the 4th/5th (Saturday or Sunday)
  11. Who's not a Shelton fan at this point? I've liked him ever since his debut on HEAT (All About The Benjamins, Baby!), but that's not saying much because there was a lot of support for Shelton even back in spring of 2002.
  12. He did win that match over Jericho (by DQ) two weeks ago on RAW, though I don't know if the WWE offically counted that as a "victory". If he shows up on RAW tomorrow (which is probable, with the smaller roster) they'll acknowledge his win.
  13. Yes - they've done it with several gimmicks (Tomko, Fertig), matches (HHH v. Bubba) and angles (such as Lita's "injury" in MSG last December). Let's just hope the house show fans have a semblance of intelligence after seeing the first vignettes for the gimmick, and boo it out of the building.
  14. Velocity recaps Smackdown in markets where UPN isn't available. Velocity recaps matches, events and angles, whereas Confidential doesn't. Velocity has original matches each week, whereas Confidential doesn't. Velocity gets a better rating.
  15. There's no such thing as an offensive gimmick anymore - in today's television landscape, ANYTHING that can be construed as "offensive" has been done before. On the other hand, angles like "the Katie Vick saga" were just offensive to our intelligence.
  16. Here's a better idea: Eliminate Confidential, have Viacom insert the Smackdown replay in its place. Have Spike TV show the RAW replay after HEAT. It is obvious that ratings mean squat to Vince McMahon in the grand scheme of things - he worries about buyrates since they're the source of how the company is currently doing (they're simply used as a bargaining chip in getting a television deal, but that doesn't matter now with a new extension with Viacom being signed last month.) If he can negotiate terms with Viacom's stations to get the A-shows replayed later during the week, there's a good chance more viewers will tune in and follow the product. Let the RAW encore's rating tonight be an indicator of whether the idea of "show replays = watered-down ratings" works or not. If it hits a 3.0 or better, McMahon will take a second look at replay programming.
  17. Uh, the Raw replay tonight is after Heat. A few people suggested cancelling HEAT to show a weekly RAW replay - he was responding to them.
  18. I hit the Virgin Megastore in Vancouver this past weekand picked up these titles for $40 CAN... Bandits Behind Enemy Lines Donnie Darko Grosse Point Blank Last week, I purchased SNL: The Best of Will Ferrell and Lost In Translation and tonight, after trading in one of my buddy's horrible DVD's (Hotel New Hampshire was the title, I think), picked up The Rundown for 12.99 at Blockbuster.
  19. I'm LOVING this tournament so far - so many great finishes over the past week. I'll stick with UConn taking the championship, even though Oklahoma State played an amazing game tonight.
  20. Edited. Well, Choken edited his post to echo my sentiments - I felt that Summerslam 2002 needed some love here for a solid card, but I guess he made a mistake earlier and mentioned the 2001 show (which is bogged down by a few actively BAD matches).
  21. Mummy Returns filming information... Rocky missed a few shows in early May, consisting of the RAW on the 8th, the Smackdown on the 9th (airing on the 11th), then the offtime until he returned on television on the 15th. On a side note, before doing this research, I had always assumed he never missed television time since the touring schedule was light during this time.
  22. Lost In Translation It's very hard to express the words for which I need to describe this movie. This is, quite simply, an absolutely ENGROSSING film. Coppola deserves that Oscar for capturing the beauty of Tokyo, which aided by the integration of two cultures, sets the stage for two fantastic lead performances by Bill Murray and Scarlette Johannson. 10 out of 10, and highly recommended.
  23. Their has to be a better way to convey that message than cowering in fear when he stared at them. Ignoring Heyman's commands to protect "the crown jewel of Smackdown" makes perfect sense, especially one that has dominated the show for the better part of eighteen months. Steiner. He had a good heel thing going up until that point. Week #1: Steiner turns heel. Week #2: He defeats Spike; he is saved by Test from a Dudley Boys beatdown. Week #3: He is stunned by Austin after a DQ loss to RVD. Week #4: Austin's team v. Bischoff's team announced for Survivor Series - Steiner elects to join Bischoff's team. On the same night, teaming up with Jericho, they defeat RVD and Lance Storm in an eighteen-minute match. Week #5: In-ring brawl with Austin's team to further the angle for their match at Survivor Series. I don't see any momentum lost after the confrontation.
  24. Jericho? Don't remember that one. Set the angle in place to take away Austin's role as Co-GM - he and Christian picketed for weeks to get him off of RAW. Austin melted a chair into Kane's head last July, threw him into the steel post, then followed that with a stunner - Kane promptly no-sold that and chokeslammed Austin to end the show. The next week, Austin promised there was hell to pay. Instead, Kane lit Jim Ross (Austin's storyline "best friend) on fire in a backstage segment while Austin looked on from the ring. This was covered weeks ago by other posters (in another thread) until the point of exhaustion. The excuse the announcers used following that angle was the apparent frustration of the Smackdown lockerroom with Heyman and his protection of Lesnar - you can't ignore that they cheered his drafting to the RAW brand last Monday. As I mentioned, both picketed to get him off of RAW last October. They succeeded, for the time being at least. I don't think it made the heels look any worse than they already were. In fact, give me me an example of ONE wrestler that was solely ruined by a confrontation with Austin.
