Guest DRAWMUH! Report post Posted January 29, 2004 I'm trying to make a 50 song, 3 CD set of the best songs of the 90's. I'm limiting myself to 2 songs per band and its pretty much any kind of music besides rap, hip hop, and country. I'm going for a mix between success and personal liking usually. For example, for the Nirvana songs, my favourite is Lithium but Teen Spirit and Heat Shaped Box made it. Anyways these are the ones I have so far for suggestions. Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box Green Day - Basket Case Green Day - Good Riddance Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun Soundgarden - Blow Up The Outside World Pearl Jam - Jeremy Pearl Jam - Do The Evolution Stone Temple Pilots - Sex Type Thing Stone Temple Pilots - Days Of The Week Radiohead - Creep Radiohead - Karma Police NOFX - Bob NOFX - Linoleum Weezer - The Good Life Weezer - Hash Pipe Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wings Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight Tonight Nine Inch Nails - Closer Nine Inch Nails - Perfect Drug No Doubt - Spiderwebs No Doubt - Just A Girl Oasis - Wonderwall Oasis - Half The World Away Metallica - Enter Sandman Alice In Chains - Man In The Box Alice In Chains - Them Bones Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name Of Rage Of The Machine - Know Your Enemy Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta Blur - Song 2 Foo Fighters - My Hero Wallflowers - One Headlight The Offspring - Self Esteem Pennywise - Bro Hymn Tribute Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge White Zombie - More Human Than Human Rob Zombie - Dragula Bush - Swallowed Our Lady Peace - Clumsy Goo Goo Dolls - Iris Third Eye Blind - Jumper Ands thats all I got for ideas for right now. Anyone got any other suggestions? Different songs for the bands? Different bands? Criticism for actually including No Doubt? Not including November Rain by GnR? All apreciated! Steviekick 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2004 Weezer's "Hash Pipe" wasn't from the 1990s. Replace it with "El Scorcho." Any song that mentions New Jack in it is worthy.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2004 Hip hop isn't a musical genre, just fyi. I really don't think Dragula is that good of a song, I'd swap it for a different Rob Zombie song. Living Dead Girl probably. Add some Beck. I'd go with Loser, but he had plenty of songs to choose from.

Brian's Best Songs of the 90s: "Soul to Squeeze"- Red Hot Chili Peppers "Ants Marching"- Dave Matthews Band "Tripping Billies"- Dave Matthews Band "Drive"- REM "I'm not an Addict"- K's Choice "Fade Into You"- Mazzy Star "What's the Story, Morning Glory?"- Oasis "Welcome to Paradise"- Green Day "Smash it Up"- Offspring "Sliver"- Nirvana "Crazy Mary"- Pearl Jam "Alone"- Pearl Jam "Angry Chair"- Alice In Chains "Bullet in the Head"- Rage Against The Machine "Revolver"- Rage Against The Machine "Blind"- Korn "Faget"- Korn "Big Empty"- Stone Temple Pilots "Kitchenware and Candy Bars"- Stone Temple Pilots "Grace"- Jeff Buckley "Last Goodbye"- Jeff Buckley "Witches Rave"- Jeff Buckley "Yard of Blonde Girls"- Jeff Buckley "Smaller and Smaller"- Faith No More "Be Aggressive"- Faith No More "Bound for the Floor"- Local H "All the Kids are Right"- Local H "Whimsical"- Days of the New "Touch, Peel and Stand"- Days of the New "Thunderkiss '65"- White Zombie "The Outlaw Torn"- Metallica "Angry Again"- Megadeth "Hangar 18"- Megadeth "Christeen"- Devin Townsend "One"- U2 "Jesus Christ Pose"- Soundgarden "Limo Wreck"- Soundgarden Those are just some of my personal favourites. I know you said just 2 songs per artist, but the buckley stuff is all good that you can just take your pick. I also think that it's kind of close-minded to not include any Rap/Hip-Hop, as there was alot of good material released in the 1990s, especially Tupac's work, Jay-Z's work, 3 albums by The Roots, etc.
