Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 Not just individual but teams. This can include current and former. For me it's Kevin Harlan and Kevin McHale. They did the Timberwolves games before KG was on the team. It was so fun watching Harlan get overly exited by a bunch of stiffs, and McHale take potshots at the teams horrible performance. strummer 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 Bob Costas and Tony Kubek Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola Dick Endberg and Dan Dierdorff Sam Rosen and John Davidson Sean McDonough and Bob Montgomery I'm the biggest Mets fan in the world, but their announcers have pretty much sucked since day one. Gary Cohen and Howie Rose are very good on the radio, although Rose's lack of enthusiasm brings them down sometimes

Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted February 13, 2005 Any announce team with Coach John Thompson is good with me. His combo with Harlan and Chuck Daly was great on Thursday. Marv Albert, Steve Kerr and the Czar. Hubie Brown and Al Michaels. Bill Walton and whoever is sitting beside Bill Walton.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 Jim Durham: I guess something got lost in translation there. Bill Walton: Yes! Lost In Translation was an EXCELLENT film starring Bill Murray. I enjoyed it very much. Jim Durham: Well that wasn't really what I was going for, but okay! Cartman 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 I really love listening to the Red Sox guys, Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo. Also i'm probably the only person in america who enjoys the ESPN Sunday Night Football team. Can't stand Joe Buck, or Sean McDonough. McCarver isn't as bad as everyone thinks. With exception to a few names, he's usually pretty accurate in what he talks about. He's interesting to listen to.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted February 13, 2005 The ultimate Walton comment for me is still Shawn Bradley knocking down back to back jumpers and Walton saying: It looks like Wilt's record is in danger as of now, WHAT A MOMENT IN TIME!" Brad Nessler, his partner at the time tried to call the next 2 minutes while simultaneously trying not to explode in laughter.

Boon 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 Lots of Boston folks- Why no mention of Tommy Heinson? Blame the refs, get overly excited, nearly have a heart attack every night- what more could you ask from a former pro turned announcer?
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 McCarver isn't as bad as everyone thinks. With exception to a few names, he's usually pretty accurate in what he talks about. He's interesting to listen to. He makes me want to put a bullet in my brain. Or his. The guy never shuts up. He thinks he's God's gift to announcing, and just talks incessantly about things that happened five innings ago that had no impact on the game, and a lot of people probably didn't even notice, and stopped being interesting about 4 1/2 innings ago. Half the time he doesn't even know what he's talking about. He is afflicted with what my dad loves to call "verbal diarrhea" more than anyone else...he just runs off at the mouth about anything and everything, whether or not it actually pertains to the action we're seeing, and is in love with the sound of his own voice. CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2005 Tom Cheek and Jerry Howarth Cuthbert and Millen Can I say the CBS golf team, save Gary Mccord? There's, um....let's see Nantz, Oosterhuis, Wadkins, Mccord, Feherty.....5, subsitute Mccord with Verne Lundquist at the Masters...... yeah 5....sorry, little not so mental math... I like the Fox football line actually....though Bradshaws an idiot, and id like them to find a full time fourth for more than a season, I always liked Collinsworth. MARTYEWR 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2005 Dan Shulman and Buck Martinez Dave Van Horne and Ken Singleton Dean Brown and Gord Wilson Marv Albert and Mike Fratello Tom Cheek and Jerry Howarth Sean McDonough and Jerry Remy (hell, Sean and pretty much anybody outside of Tim McCarver) Almost all of the above, but I'm weary on that Brown/Wilson duo. Brown drove me up the wall, not so much with his "SCRAMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLE" call, but whenever Steve Duchense (when he played for Ottawa) scored a goal ("DU-DU-DU-DU-DU-DU-DU-DU-DUCHEEEEEEEEEENNSE!!!") Tune in to Joe Tait on WTAM 1100. He's pretty damn phenomenal.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted February 15, 2005 All of TNT's basketball guys, including the Barkley show. How I love TNT. also, maybe I'm insane but I think Joe Buck kicks ass, even for football when he has no idea what he's talking about. and as a Sox fan I'd be remiss not to mention the legendary Hawk Harrelson, who is kind of like listening to your drunk hick grandfather watch a baseball game. Tune in to Joe Tait on WTAM 1100. He's pretty damn phenomenal. Between the circles to LeBron. To the line, to the lane . . . WHAM! With TWO HANDS!!! Casey Coleman doing sideline reports for the Cleveland Browns Radio Network always give me a chuckle w/ his nasally voice and dumbass comments . . . "I had a chance to talk to Jets QB Quincy Carter before the game . . . he's one of these QBs who feels more comfortable after getting a few completions early in the game so it'll be up to Butch Davis's defense to stop that." --- Don't all QBs like to complete at least a few in a row to start a game? Sheesh. And my favorite recurring quote from Coleman . . . "Boy, I tellya this Browns defense looks tired out there. They have their hands on their hips, sweating profusely. They NEED to make a stop here to get off the field and turn it over to the offense. And before I throw it back to the booth, it appears that Gerrard Warren has vomited here by the 38-yard line." --- Ok, I exaggerated at the end but you'd think he was talking about 60 year old men playing. These are young men . . . they can't be_that_tired. Granted, Cleveland's defense has played like 60 year old men this year, but I digress.
Vasarian_Brandy 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 Between the circles to LeBron. To the line, to the lane . . . WHAM! With TWO HANDS!!! Yeah... Joe Tait is a legend, at least in the lines of Cleveland sports. I listened to him back in the days of Nance, Ehlo, Price, Daugherty, and "Hot Rod". The only reason I wasn't listening to him for "The Shot" is because I was there in person... Damn you, Michael Jordan!
