A Mentor/Student storyline w/ Benoit that leads to one of them turning heel and feuding is what he fuckin' needs.

That would work well. I don't think he needs a manager, he just needs a consistant push with some big wins. I've been on the Shelton bandwagon for a while now and think he could be a very big star for WWE with some minor tweaking to his look and work. I'd like to see him change his ring attire a little to get further away from TWGTT look and do a little bit more amateur style mat work (quick take downs and such). The crowd generally likes that type of stuff and he is obviously good at it.

The crowd is starting to dig him more and more, and Mania and than him beating Jericho on Raw in awesome fashion has got to be moving his stock up.

He just NEEDS one big feud for the crowd to really buy into him. I think the IC Champ should always have a good feud with the hell, remember HHH got pretty over himself as a face after his big midcard feud with the Rock.

I like the fact that he's winning matches with moves other then the T-Bone as it showcases his variety and athleticism. The fans buy into the fact that anything this guy can do is good enough to put you down for a 3 count.

Having said that, the T-Bone is getting pretty over with fans even though I'd still rather he used something else as a finisher and kept the suplex as a secondary move.

First off a note on the title of this thread. Lesnar had potential? I always thought he sucked and was damn boring in the right 90% of the time. With that said onto the real subject.

I'm yet another on the Shelton Benjiman banwagon, have been since him and Haas debuted. I've pretty much forgotten about Haas since the trade last year though. Hopefully Benjimans push continues, just for once I would like to see someone with talent get a push to the moon the way people like Orton, JBL & Lesnar have gotten over the last few years. It seems to never happen with faces though unfortunally.

As far as Benjiman getting a mentor, I say it should be Ricky Steamboat. Hes under contract as a road agent or something isnt he? I would love to see Steamboat on air again.

I think another amazing thing is he has already been IC champ for 6 months and hasn't had ONE good feud over it. The closest was that deal with Snitsky that lasted three weeks, but even then I think they were just trying to get over his vicious side and stand toe to toe with him. But who really stands out as a guy he can have a good feud with? I guess as of right now Hassan stands out as a good candidate, but I know I'd love to see Haas stop being wasted and get transferred over and feud with him.

Yeah he has been champ for six months hasnt he? Thats amazing when you think about it, It seems like its only been half that time at the most. I think it would be cool if they actually let him hold the title longer then The Honkey Tonk Man. Granted its still almost a year from now but hell why not, not only would it make Benjiman a very credible champion and contender for the world title. All this and it puts more credibility back into the the IC title. With Orton having it for 7 months and now Benjimans legnthly regin it seems to be that the credibility is slowly starting to come back, all we need now is people who are actually trying to get the title from Benjiman, which shouldnt be that hard it IS the IC title afterall.

I've been a Shelton fan for some time now, probably getting super into him back in May of 2003 when WWE was in London for a house show, he put on a hell of a match and did some incredibly funny selling that evening and won me over no end. The couple of casual fans I had over at mine for 'Mania went mad for him in the Ladder match and were still raving about him the next morning, which is a pretty good sign in my opinion.

I just really hope they capatalise on Shelton now.

I've been a fan of Benjamin since I saw on Heat one time with Shamrock-like ring gear and I thought he did well. I think Benjamin can go far and I think the WWE is really into him since he's been pushed well and hasn't been given a typical minority gimmick. Although I think Shelton is the only person, who if given a thug gimmick (NOT A RAPPER) could make it work. And some guys already coined some phrases like the Blinger splash and his catch phrase could be something about being all about the Benjamin.

He has potential and I think he will be a future WWE Champ in 2 years.

I've been a Shelton fan since the Team Angle days myself. I was pissed when they gave Haas a finish, but not Benjamin.

Now I look at the man... and I'm left wondering if creative just forgets about him. I think creative forgets about the IC strap for stretches at a time.

Benjamin's t-bone is fine, I guess. I personally think something like the top rope bulldog he pulled was GREAT, but hell, it doesn't suck, so I'm not terribly upset. I could see Benjamin as a guy with somewhere in the neighborhood of four big moves, any of which oculd put someone away.

Lesnar was about 10X as good in the ring as Batista is.

Ten times zero is still zero. Say Batista had the slightest inkling of ring ability. That's a stretch, I know. Lesnar was infinity to the infinitieth power as good in the ring as Batista.

Bla Lesnar sucked. I couldnt stand him at all and it made my month when I found out he was leaving.

Potential means you could be good at some point in the future, not that you currently are or actually were good.

Brock Lesnar had potential. Whether or not he lived up to it doesn't negate the fact that the potential was there.

Got it?

Benjamin is a good athlete but he still is lacking that connection with the WWE fans, a big feud and an improvement on his personality (which he has none at this time) would make him into a potential main eventer.

Everyone then has potential if they stick around long enough...

Back in the old days it was more comic booky so not everyone could have great matches.. or even good..

Nowadays if you stick around in the business, chances are unless your a Stuck-Up Ass, then you will at some point learn how to put on a good match....

Taker's in-ring was terrible, but he still is able to put on some quality matches...

Everyone has potential, its just whether or not they seize it.

I think Shelton Benjamin has the potential to go down as one of the best ever. There is literally nothing he can't do in the ring. He can wrestle a mat-based style, brawl, fly, he uses the ropes perfectly, and is extremely energetic. He really isn't too bad at working the mic, he just needs a little work. If he can polish-up his mic skills, he will be unstoppable.

If you look at someone like Kurt Angle, this is a guy that can wrestle and adapt to really any style, and he can work a mic like he was born with one in his hand. Aside from his BEAUTIFUL moonsault though, he doesn't really take to the air a lot.

Then you look at Chris Benoit, he too can wrestle circles around anyone, and can carry a broomstick to a *** match. He has his flying headbutt highspot, but doesn't take to the air often other than that, and can't work the mic too well.

I think this is an area where Shelton Benjamin can stand out. He can do it all, and if he can learn to cut a promo, the sky is the limit for him.

Brock was pretty damn good when he was there, and had potential to be great.
