Bruce Blank

Signature Weapons?

Recommended Posts

If you’ve read Storm in detail instead of just skipping to the winners you’ve probably read how the Crimson Skull bought a title shot this week (if you just skipped to the winners – shame on you, it was a good show ;) )

He bought it with his “Most deadly weapon” – stored in a black box and no one knows what it is.

Turns out I’m not sure either LOL.

I want to give Bruce a signature weapons, being the kind of character that he is I figured he’d have a signature weapon instead of just the old “Generic Barbwire Baseball bat”. So that’s what the box is for, but the contents are still undecided though.

My problem is that I don’t know what kind of “signature” weapons have been used in the SWF before – outside of a barbwire cricket bat and that bad ass flick blade 7 foot scythe – and I want it to be something unique and not just a rip off of what someone else did and have it be a Sledgehammer ;)

So help me out fellow fed’ers – can you list any signature weapons that actually got some sort of fame? I don’t mean some guy coming in with a 7 foot barbwire wrapped spade in his profile but never used it – a weapon that played a part in SWF history.

Oh and while you’re at it – feel free to throw out suggestions for what’s in the box (fraid I already considered and then rejected “Smelly underwear on a stick” as a potential weapon)

Lil’ help for the (still a) n00b?

You'd basically have free reign here. There maybe a few things that could be considered taboo (Baseball Bat, Cricket Bat, Lead Pipe etc.) but I doubt many people would mind.

Something southern and not too complicated would be nifty. Flaming barbed wire 2x4's sound cool, but get old quickly. I'd look for something simple and right for the character, but that goes without saying.

I think I'm going to give Cross a set of, as used before, reverse taped tai pai fists (basically, reverse tape around the fists and broken glass spread over them, for those who've seen one of the Bloodsport movies, I forget which one).

Possibly an aluminum bat? It seems somewhat of the image of Blank to carry around a cheap-o heavy duty aluminum bat and just swing away. The ones off the top of my head that seem would fit Bruce are branding irons, a big wooden stick (not even a bat, just a wooden stick), the aluminum baseball bat, steal tipped boots, metal plated elbow pads, I don't know...

The bullwhip has been done ... with little success, it seems. Though if you check my returning match against Jay Dawg in the nostalgia thread, Sarah whipped the snot out of Jay at the end of the match ...

Ace of Clubs was a black wooden bat (As it was smashed over our dear CC Leader's head).

Also, in that match (I still have it in PMs), was the Ace of Spades, which was a shovel.

Oh, praise be to God. :D

Well since Bruce didn't pick the weapon but traded the Skull for it it's not necessarily a "southern" weapon, after all it's "The Crimson Skull's Most Deadly Weapon" (or TCSMDW as the US Guvermint' calls it when they search for it) so that'll play a factor in what it is.

I've got a few ideas and none of them seem to have "history" in the SWF but then again none of them say "Oh yeah that's it" - good thing it's not being revealed at Lockdown :D

"Ace of Spades" - how can that NOT be a spade? ;)

As long as it's not something that he uses for every single hardcore / "No rules" match it could be okay - but the glass shard covered hands can be terribly limiting match writing wise.

Have you ever seen the 2 Tai Pei Death matches that the Rottens have been in? Violent, bloody sure but mainly punch, punch, avoid punch, punch some more and that's about it

My advice would be to make it a "special occasion" type of deal so you don't restrain the match writing too much.

steal tipped boots
Already got steel tipped cowboy boots especially for Ultraviolent title matches :D I'm sure you'll find out pretty soon too ;)

Wasn't the Ace of Clubs also able to be set ablaze?

Also: Skull's super-awesome weapon should be a hunk of weapons-grade plutonium. Blank comes out in a lead suit and just waves it around. Or maybe it's a squirrel/pigeon/fish hybrid from Chernobyl. "Git 'em, Lumpy!"

"OH GOD, IT IS EATING MY FLESH!"

"Good 'un, Lumpy. OH GOD, NOW IT IS EATING MY FLESH!"

Trained Pirahnas! Bruce carries a fish bowl to the ring with him and throws it at opponents when he feels like it :D

Oh to have a good comedy opponent (note: I've finished Bruce/Skull I can't go back and add the trained pirahnas)

Sharks... With freaking laser beams on the tops of their heads!

Heh.

Anyway... Steel-toe boots seem to be popular (I think I had them / have them now).

I use a kendo stick... Though I'm thinking about planting a piece of rebar down one for something more... Unexpected. And less fragile.

Meh.

Yeah, I think I wore one of them, and I've seen the tai pai matches, and they're dreadful. The reason being, all the Rottens ever did was punch and job to weapons. The point of those match stips was for the two to punch each other to a bloody pulp and not take bumps involving other weapons or spots. Not nearly as limited as you'd think, but it's not something I planned on using long term, just in important milestone matches for my character (specifically against The Masked Crusader and against you, the latter being the fact that it was my first steps towards the title shot at you).

In any case, a list of stuff I've thought of:

Card table

Camera bipod/tripod

Car door

Noose

Whip

A lamp to bludgeon your opponents with

Boom box

Computer scanner

Shopping cart

Net

Fishing rod

Wooden pallet

Rake

Hoe

Wooden door

Picture frame

Large alcohol bottle (like a Jack Daniels bottle, only twice the size)

Wiffle bat

Surge protector (long plastic object with a chord to swing it with)

Washboard

I don't know if you're looking for something to fit for your character, but I thought some of those would be cool.

Waterpistols, ball bearings and a Stanley knife are Toxxic's.

Nah, he never used that as a weapon did he? Not actually Reggie. Just other pot plants with barbed wire on them.

The only "signature" weapon Grand Slam ever has was actually named after someone else: The Spark Special Hardcore Bat. A Louisville Slugger (Mark Stevens signed edition) wrapped in razor wire (not barbed wire, that was important) and able to be lit on fire.

Used it with some success in many matches, noteably my farewell Hell in the Cell against King at the Ace of Clubs.

True that.

You could start a feud to the death by threatening Reggie though.
