Jaxxson Mayhem Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Although I doubt it matters now, I seem to recall Booker T having a lot of heat on him when he debuted at KotR '01, b/c he broke some of the bones in Austin's hand when he put him through the announce table. Also, Booker T was part of the infamous "kill WCW out of the gate" match was Buff Bagwell on RAW (although I think most of the heat was on Bagwell for that one). I wonder if those 1st impressions have had a lasting effect on the people who matter. What's that? I missed most of the invasion angle.

Just a totally abysmal match. The crowd was dead anyway because it was held in the Pacific Northwest, not exactly WCW territory. Why they didn't kick off WCW in the South is a mystery. So the match is shit in front of a dead crowd and made any hope of WCW as a standalone entity die.

Golgo 13 Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 It wasn't awful by normal standards, just thoroughly average when it needed to be a blow away effort, and Bagwell being in the match was also a huge disappointment in itself.

How dare you!! According to Ric Flair, Bagwell was one of ones carrying WCW

It was even dumber considering that the next week's Raw was in Atlanta, GA, the home of WCW.
Hoff Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 Booker's suspension has been extended from 60 days to "forever." Which, in wrestling, may not even make sixty days.
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 If it means anything Sharmell was the Daily Diva. Yeah, I was bored and looked at the current Power 25 and it had Booker on it still just mentioning he still made the list despie not being in action. I don't know if it really means anything, but I'd think they would not put him on if he was leaving.

I've never thought that argument holds weight considering how hot the crowd at the Tacoma Dome was for Spring Stampede '99.
Atticus Chaos Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Source - Wrestling Observer Newsletter The current word backstage in WWE is that Booker will be returning to the company after his sixty day suspension is up. As of right now, he isn't taking any offers for outside bookings as he would be in demand and could get good money from them. This all but confirms both sides are negotiating a new deal.

His suspension was for breaking the wellness policy right?
Black Lushus Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 I don't understand...okay so he quit because he was getting suspened for violating the wellness policy, decides he'll come back after what would have been the equivelant of the 60 day supsension is up and is then going to demand a new contract worth more money? Am I reading this correctly? Did he officially quit or was he just threatening? Did he not officially quit, serve his suspension and have the nerve to demand more money on return?
Boxer Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 All hail King Booker part 2. Send him back to Smackdown and let him rule his real kingdom again. The Hunter deal should be a one time deal, so now lets get Booker back to fighting guys like Kane or Batista on Smackdown.
Enigma Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Booker T has removed all WWE links and images from his website and has been telling indy promoters that he'll be available for bookings after his 30 day no-compete has expired.
Boxer Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Well, there you have it. Batista, you win. That is if that was what you really wanted. There was nothing more for him to do, so I say good move by Booker.
AntiLeaf33 Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Booker T and WWE Diva Sharmell as of October 27. We wish both Booker & Sharmell he best in all their future endeavors. WWE.com
Aero Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Nice touch by WWE.com using a photo that has Booker & Sharmell looking worried and panicked.
Ginger Snaps Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Time for a new Booker / Angle feud, this time in TNA.
cabbageboy Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 You know, I wouldn't mind seeing a Booker/Sharmell vs. Kurt/Karen mixed tag. Though I wonder what Karen would think of Kurt wanting to have wild, beastiality sex with Sharmell.
Black Lushus Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 I'll miss the King Booker persona...."Jerome" Lawler indeed!
haws bah gawd Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Maybe Kurt can cut another promo about how he wants to have bestiality sex with Sharmell......
Spaceman Spiff Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Booker gone, HHH & HBK back, Cena hurt, Orton as champ - Raw is getting really hard to watch these days. London & Kendrick are practically the only people I actively want to see on the show (maybe throw Cade/Murdoch & Regal in the mix, too).

Atticus Chaos Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 The following is from Booker T's official website: Announcement We want to begin by thanking the many wonderful WWE fans that we have had the privilege of entertaining over the last eight years. Sharmell and I have enjoyed the opportunity to put smiles on your faces night after night. We also want to thank everyone in the wrestling community for their support of our very own P.W.A. (Pro Wrestling Alliance). The dream of bringing professional wrestling back to my home town of Houston, Texas is coming to fruition, and we have you to thank for it. I want to address something that has been on my mind for quite some time now in regards to my recent suspension from WWE. I want to state for the record that I was not taking any illegal substance, or anything outside of my physician's care, and that the suspension was unwarranted. However, rather than fight the suspension or publicly voice my discontent, I used this recent hiatus to rest, work with the P.W.A., and reflect on the direction of my career as a professional wrestler. I also, for the record, have never at any time ordered anything from "Signature Pharmacy". This allegation is upsetting, and the careless and slanderous reporting of this matter is currently being addressed by my legal counsel. I would like to also address any possible rumors or misinformation regarding our release from WWE. I had been unhappy for quite some time with the direction that the Company was going in. In fact, I asked for my release back in July for that very reason. However, after further contemplation, I decided to continue on with WWE because of my passion for this industry and my desire to entertain the fans. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that my unhappiness with my work environment was beginning to take a great toll on other aspects of my life. I knew that it was time to make some extremely tough decisions. Therefore, in the interest of my mental, physical, and spiritual well being, I along with my wife, asked for our release from World Wrestling Entertainment for the second time within months. We were graciously granted our release and we have since amicably parted ways. While the business relationship between ourselves and the WWE has ended, we will continue to be involved in Professional Wrestling. We hope that our loyal fans will follow us as we make this transition. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, and we will see you soon! Booker T. and Sharmell Yeah, I'm willing to bet that his supposed "legal action" goes the same way as Batista's (i.e we'll never hear of it again).
Australian Pride Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Good riddance I say. I hated both their characters, and I've never really seen what the fuss was about with Booker for the bulk of his singles career. And for once a name talent leaves WWE and I DONT want them to go to TNA.

How can you NOT like that character, possibly the best King of the Ring gimmick since Owen Hart.

Sharmell didn't help with the overly annoying 'all hail King Booker' thing.
