Well start one then. Of course, we don't know any of the 2008 releases.
-
I read the introduction the Colbert book on the bus ride to work and was fighting very hard to not laugh out loud.
-
If by overboard you mean over and above awesome to some new level of awesome, yes, it's going overboard like Goldie Hawn! That was one amazing daily update.

"Cyber Sunday results and a look at the new WWE champion (pro wrestling)" is the word for word preview on the "Prevue" system from Cogeco in Canada. Weird.

Before I subscribed to 24/7 (actually I think this happened the first month I did subscribe) but followed the full posted schedules on WWE.com - which no longer exist - it was quite obvious they were skipping the non-compete weeks, so this isn't news. Thursday Raw Thursday may be the first non-compete week to have an airing. Like I said, reading the results for the April 14/97 Raw, I will gladly take the leap to Austin beating the hell out of Bret over a 17 minute HHH vs Jesse James match from Africa.

Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling

I bought this today (along with Colbert's book). Man, Puerto Rico sounds f'ing scary. It's nice getting some insight on the Hart family and how Bret grew up poor. As I was walking around the store holding the Bret book, an employee asks me if I'm finding everything ok then says the Bret book is great and she already read it, then says the other clerk had him walk right past her on Wednesday. A few minutes later the other clerk repeats this story and I said I had heard that, then they start talking about Rick Mercer in relation to the Colbert book. Maybe I'm just socially deranged when it comes to interaction with other people, and I do appreciate that they were just trying to be nice, but sometimes I wish store folk would say nothing at all and just let me buy my stuff. -

I got mine at waldenbooks, anyhow no biggee, its not as cool as it sounds(its not like it has straight reposts of old articles) and has way too many pics and stories about recent wwe history Noted. I actually don't think it's even out in Canada yet, or at least not here (I remember when for some reason we used to get magazines 5 days before the US, but not anymore). I was at a book store today for an unrelated matter and they only had the "Fall Preview" and Undertaker cover WWE mags. -
It's been legit every other time, don't see why it wouldn't be this year especially considering there is nothing that really needs to be fixed. For whatever it's worth (probably nothing), the digital guide preview for Raw says "a look at the new WWE champion".

Damn wrestling unpopularity. I want to check out that special 500th edition of WWE Magazine but no convenience store I walk in has it. I know the 7-11s probably have it but I generally need to go out of my way for a stop there. -
I thought the other Cyber Sunday thread was the OAO, but whatever. Anyway for a WWE PPV this looks pretty good. Batista / Taker have always delivered a good match, Orton vs HBK or Hardy should be fine / good, and with only 6 matches, Rey / Finlay should have time to be really good too. Hopefully Hardy / MVP is a wrestling match because that could be good too. Umaga and HHH had a great brawl on Monday and here's hoping they finally have the good match they can if they're not squashing Umaga n 6 minutes.

I have no idea what a 2001 angle has to do with 2004/2005 when they were both heels on Raw and only being called "tag team partners" instead of brothers, but ok.

I accidentally watched The Office very early in Season 2. I was sick and lying down and didn't feel like changing the channel after Earl. Turned out to be a great call.
-
Does he speak to colleges in character? I assume not since I've heard he does QnA about his character and the show. Anyway, yes, guy is awesome, the show is awesome, I loved being in the audience for a show in 2006. It was great watching him crack up at his desk while we were watching a video about The Difference Makers (guys setting up a 1 mile fence on the Mexico border). I heard his book (and audiobook version) is good so I'll probably pick that up along with The Best of the Colbert Report DVD when it comes out (a week from Tuesday). I did a Colbert Report thread a long time ago, it's probably buried somewhere here.

Plinko is awesome.

I am totally rocking out to the digital cable music channel "Maxtrax Party". Halloween themed songs! That's probably more of a Music Folder comment but A. I never go there B. This is a TV channel. Ghostbusters theme (with commercial dialogue intro) followed by "This is Halloween" from "The Nightmare Before" (according to the channel information).. good stuff. I wonder what's next.

I did a Google search, it sounded like someone mis-read an article in Nintendo Power and set the net a blaze with C64 rumours.

Now how will people that get results from WWE.com and WWE.com only know that HBK submitted once in 1992!? (though I guess since Backlash 2004 they can't pretend he's never submitted). Also, I should have wished you Happy Birthday yesterday Faz. We used to compete in WWE Fantasy! -
Happy Birthday, Anya. Hopefully you receive some great PS3 games as a present! Same could be said for anyone that owns a PS3 (but hey, I own a Wii).
-
I remember before launch there was talk of Commodore 64 games like Impossible Mission on VC. What happened there?
-
They showed Clash 4 (I think - "Seasons Beatings") last December. Good times.

Hardy/MVP isn't meant to happen. Actually the latest was Hardy will be wrestling/moxing/MMAing this Sunday, so hooray. (THIS is what I used my 5,000th post on? Not that I care about post numbers and such...) -

Just because 40 people on a forum don't like Austin's stale antics doesn't mean 2 million others aren't still in love with it. Austin's pop at SummerSlam was amazing. -
There are times when the spot is done properly so it makes sense (Wrestler A doesn't release the hold he has his opponent in until Wrestler B is well in position to lock him in, then does the fake tag clap) but other times where, yeah, it's just being a dick (releasing the hold completely and walking towards the apron while your partner just walks in too). I think it happens the "good way" more often though.

Grandma Edna was a regular unseen character in the summer of 2001. I think she was first brought up either when Edge won KOTR or the IC title. She always hung up when Edge gave the phone. I think she died sometime later when Christian turned on Edge.

The awards scene was gold, though.
