Did they show any clips of these on the DVD or whatever? Benoit v. Holly was shown for a few seconds in the main feature.
-
They keep everything. Recently, they've been using pre-show and post-show incidents, some of little significance, as extras on their DVD products.

One match request: does anyone have the four-way tag team championship match (August 10, 1998 RAW) that had Austin/Taker v. Kane/Foley v. Rock/D'Lo v. New Age Outlaws?
-
I usually catch the pregames, which is why I'm probably exaggerating. I have to make an effort to see the final quarter of every NBA game on TNT, just so I can catch their postgame more often. EDIT: I was impressed with Jerome James (or was it Reggie Evans?) catching the chair in mid-air by its leg.
-
They're wasting that team with the little pregame and postgame shows - TNT needs to secure more time before and after for this trio to recap the games around the league.

Charles Barkley is the best soundbite in the sports industry. When recapping the 2004 Skills Challenge, which Baron Davis won. "Baron Davis - he's still ALIVE?!?" ...and when referring to the Hornets themselves... "Man, they be messing up Byron Scott's coaching record."

Not to say that Piper had a problem with jobbing, but I'm pretty sure that Vince was convinced otherwise of putting the belt on him for that very reason. Piper was pinned cleanly ONCE from his run in 1984 to 1992 (the one being Bret).

EDIT.

I was surprised to see that this bit of news on Magglio's contract went without discussion here in this folder. This is probably vanilla frosting on a turd cupcake, but here's the clause:

If this works, expect more from my end. I have a good amount of matches to share.... Benoit/Raven from Souled Out 1998 http://s24.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1OL8VU3...0T07TBXWYBJGW0T

It was good to see that the WWE recognized that as well - after he bombed working against the Invasion, they limited him to working AGAINST the WWF'ers, despite pledging his loyalty.

The Rock is the next coming of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, not Richard Gere. There's no interest to see Rock out of the action film mold, and there's no reason for him to do so.
-
Similar story back in June of 2001. X-Pac and Jeff Hardy v. Kidman and Chavo on an episode of Smackdown. For the majority of the match, people didn't know how to treat X-Pac and Hardy. On one hand, girls were crying to get at Jeff. On the other hand, you had X-Pac trying to leech face heat off of Jeff. Sure, by the end of the match when X-Pac made the save for Jeff, the crowd finally turned on his side, but it was still entertaining to see him trying to keep the WCW guys from getting cheered.
-
It gets a bigger reaction that he does?

Take note of what 4hartthreat said. If it's outside of the continental United States, they'll book any match they feel will please the crowd. This keeps the potential matchups fresh for the U.S. crowd, while they bring in good gates for a special card. (example being the dual brand shows in Honolulu and Anchorage).

OT: What has been proven about the conditions behind Hogan leaving in 1993? ...because he felt that Savage didn't serve a purpose as an active wrestler anymore. None of his releases fit the same terms as the Rock's release - he also never released Piper during the peak of his star power. The Rock is of "no use" to Vince because he believes Austin can be a suitable replacement to the Rock's role in the film industry. If he wants to believe that, as delusional as it sounds, more power to him. ...that's because they never ventured far from the nest.
-
But, to release someone of the magnitude of the Rock, especially with the backlash going to be felt by his loyal fans, the casual fan and the outside media, the convincing had to have come from Vince's inner circle. ...and we remember what happened to Vince's right-hand man last October.

I believe there's a bit of confusion with the posters who say that Rock doesn't need the WWE anymore. Sure, the Rock doesn't need the WWE to succeed anymore. Did that stop him from doing the last two Wrestlemanias on his request? The facts are that the Rock WANTS to wrestle, and was willing to do a whole host of matches for Mania that were to be considered "special" (Rock/Sting and Rock/Cena, among others), but the WWE didn't budge on their plans with doing the JBL program. Regarding the interview...if it is true...Dwayne Johnson would never be open and final about the contract situation. In my opinion, he's simply using "I'm done" comment as a negotiating tactic to show the WWE the levity of a mistake they're making by leaving him on the sideline for a show he should be headlining. "Ally" may not be the word in their situation.

Bah. At least I didn't say core.
-
I'm just hoping he can salvage an offense that will now be comprised of an average quarterback, an average running back and a receiving corps that is now without any true receivers. EDIT: The Titans are an estimated $26 million over the cap, about $10 million more than the next closest (Dolphins) and $22 million away from #27 (Steelers). No one of stature on their team is a free agent, so they have to figure out how to get under the cap before March 2nd. Maybe the strategy for the Titans is to draft the entire USC team, and have Carroll and Chow meet them in the NFL.
-
What is the relationship with Dynamite Kid and Titan, though? Isn't DK just a LITTLE bitter at everyone in the wrestling industry for his current state?
-
Wow, I didn't put two and two together for this one, but... The GoDaddy.com girl and Candice Michelle (RAW Diva) are one in the same.
