I love Christian, but you can't really go by the response a wrestler gets in MSG (if you in fact were only judging by tonight). I do hope he goes to Smackdown and gets pushed to the main event, though.

if you can get a reaction like that in msg, you can get a reaction ANYWHERE.

The funny thing is.. CHRISTIAN ALWAYS LOSES... exactly like the Rock used to do. He loses so much, yet the crowd still loves him because he just oozes with charisma and he does his gimmick so perfectly.

I think if he ever gets the chance to win the big one, and does, it'll mean a lot more since he is used to jobbing all the time. I'd love to hear his speech after winning the championship.

MSG, much like NY itself, is a very 'smart' crowd, Christian being cheered there doesn't really mean he's over on the whole.

Yeah, MSG really isn't a good indicator on how over someone is. Just think of it as a smartmarks forum crowd (or close to it). In most crowds, he'd get booed or no reaction. Which is the opposite JR would have gotten. In MSG JR recieved no reaction at all, but in other arenas, because he's facing Triple H, there's no doubt he would have been cheered.

I do kinda think Christian could have played the cowardly heel champion that needs help (Tomko) to win a lot better than JBL...it woulda made more sense anyway, given his size...I find it hard to believe that a big Texan needs help beating guys like Cena, Guerrero and Angle...a little Canadian dude? I was actually hoping that Edge would go to SD! to not only put butts in the seats as far as the main event cards, but give Edge the due he deserves( He wouls serve Cena).

That's the point though... he'd be the "loose cannon" vying with Christian for leadership, one would win the title and be kicked out of the group by whichever one stayed face. (Assuming Christian got over to Rock like standards he'd eventually turn setting up a feud with Carlito)

Two weeks ago was the match against Benoit. There were at least 8 or 9 people in camera shot wearing the grey Christian shirt scattered around and at least three seperate, huge-ass 'PEEPS' signs. That = overness.

Christian vs. Cena would be the worlds most fantastic feuding ending in an incredibly boring match, simply because both guys "get it" in terms of how to merchandise and market themselves.  Christian has the hand gestures, a defined style and character, the nicknames for himself and fans, and he has someone to play off of (the best straight-man they have in Tomko - did you see that reaction to Batista/Christian?!).

The difference between Christian and Cena is that Christian has that coolness, but it doesn't feel forced. He doesn't go over the top with it like Cena. Would that because Cena is the number one face on Smackdown right now and should be getting that kind of reaction if he's the number one face on Smackdown at the moment? What he means by "forced' is by Cena making all that gay referances in his "freestyle rapes" over and over again to get a cheap laugh/pop. Cena mentioning the homecity to a cheap pop (see ex. Foley). Stuff like that, where Christian is just growing on people by just being...Christian.
