Raw drew a 4.4 rating, well above the recent average. Those who enjoy the Diva Search will be pleased to learn that it was the highest rated segment of the show drawing a 4.7 rating, a tie with the overrun featuring Hulk Hogan & Shawn Michaels & John Cena vs. Tyson Tomko & Christian & Chris Jericho. The lowest rated quarter hour was 3.7.

The Diva shit was going to keep happening anyway regardless of the rating, but this probably means the segments involving the skanks-in-waiting will be really long.

What got the 3.7?

PWTorch never said.

I might be wrong, but haven't the opening segments been getting the lowest ratings for a while?

So, they can tell us what got the highest quarter but not what got the lowest?

I tape the show and watch it the next day, all last year I fast forwarded the diva crap, I'll do the same this year

That's what I do, but it's getting to the point that it's getting harder and harder to care enough to do even that.

Should those who enjoy the Diva Search even be watching wrestling? Wouldn't they be better off watching America's Next Top Model?

Just another reason to hate the Nielsen ratings system even more.

It makes me incredibly uncomfortable for some reason when the Diva search stuff is on. Also, didn't I read last year that Neilson was no longer releasing quarter hour breakdowns.

Wha? That's news to me. Companies do pay to have their shows rated afterall... it isn't a free service.

Great, now the WWE will think it's a HUGE SUCCESS, and fucking take more time for this shit.

That's not really true..As someone else in the thread already said, I'm sure the rating doesn't really matter, as it's gonna happen whether it gets a good rating, or a bad rating. And get the same amount of time as it would if it got a bad rating more then likely, so it really doesn't matter.

Heck, at times last year (less then I thought they would) the Diva Search was booed..yet they're doing it again. So, as you can tell, it's gonna happen regardless.

The tv audience was waiting for Viscera to do the humpty dance with the girls.

Yeah I go out for about 20 minutes which is how long the diva segment takes. Pretty decent rating since Hogan was a surprise to those not reading the internet

I download WWE stuff so i just skip this stuff watch the rest of the show....

....and then come back to it later :D ...can't help but look at skanky looking women - although godfathers hoes looked better than these ones IMO. The one in the green looked nice - the one who had no underwear on, "apparently" :P

.....errr....i mean....down with the divas!!!! i hate them!!!! yeeeeehh... *cough*

I'm really perplexed as well...I mean the live crowd was dead, flat during the Diva search...I mean they were just gone...I think that may have been the deadest crowd I have ever seen/heard outside of Nassau Coliseum fans...yet it gets the highest ratings, holy hell! Angle and Flair need to stop busting their broken down asses then because it's apprently all for not!

Diva Search > Triple H.

This is the highest RAW rating since when? I don't think i've seen a 4.4 in a while.

The most recent Raw to get a 4.4 or higher was March 22nd 2004 (4.5), although April 4th 2005 and May 16th 2005 both got 4.3.

For comparison, in 2000 only *one* Raw was ranked lower than 4.4 (the Christmas episode), with most of the year hovering around the 6.0 range.

Shit like this is why I'm ashamed to admit to being a wrestling fan, most of them are idiots.

Hasn't every Raw without Triple H since the night after Survivor Series '02 done better than what it usually does? I think it's more than just a coincidence at this point.

That doesn't really make sense though, because 90% of the time, fans dont know, beforehand that HHH won't appear on the show. With the exception of the 'fuck it, I'm leaving RAW' a few weeks ago, any time HHH doesn't show up, he just doesn't show up.

edit- And seriously, as for the first statement...wtf? "They like looking at women..they're idiots!!" That's just stupid. And no matter how much many of you all love wrestling, the whole "Get these women off my tv, this time should be reserved for two men wrestling" really does just sound stupid. I love wrestling as much as the next guy, but I'm not gonna cry because HOT (which is up to opinion of course) women are on my tv for 20..on a bad day, possibly 30 minutes, especially when there's still an HOUR an 30 minutes of the precious wrestling that you all love so much. (which is technically like not a full 1hr30mins of wrestling..but of course there's wrestling in that time span)

Maybe the segments Triple H would normally be in end up doing better numbers without him?

Normally I would be interested in hot chicks in skimpy outfits, but hearing Jerry Lawler squeal about how horny he is tends to kill whatever boner I might of had.

If it's all about the T&A, then why don't segments with Trish skyrocket the ratings? She's much more entertaining that the wannabes are, and she's hotter too.

I'm going with the theory that people tuned in to watch Angle/Flair, stayed after the match because they were so enthralled, and then when they saw how bad the diva shit was, they changed the channel until the main event started.

They just waited until the actual segment was over, because once it started, they were curious if Viscera was going to really do anything to the wannabe divas. Oh, and crowd booing is enthralling as well. If a segment is so bad that the crowd is outright booing it, I usually stay tuned just for the reactions.
