Red Baron Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Celtic vs Rangers Montreal Canadiens vs Quebec Nordiques.
therealworldschampion Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 The Iron Bowl (Alabama-Auburn)
Dangerous A Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Cowboys vs Redskins. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd love to agree with you raza (Skins fan BTW), except it's not much of a feud when the Redskins have only won 1 of the last 13 meetings between the teams. Unless this is like the Raven/Dreamer ECW feud where Dreamer never wins.
Dangerous A Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Don't forget about individual sports rivalries too. Ali/Frazier comes to mind. I'm not a tennis buff, but McEnroe/Connors is up there as well.
Guest Vitamin X Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Ohio State/Michigan Yankees/Sox and at least certainly over the past decade or so, Packers-Vikings. And this is one that's only getting worse and worse as time goes on, keep in mind this is the only rivalry (at least the only one I know of) that's as close to even for as long as it's gone on (44-43 in Green Bay's favor including the playoff loss).
Anorak Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Celtic vs Rangers = Catholics vs Protestants Real Madrid vs Barcelona = Spanish history lesson Modern era tennis = Graf vs Seles. The stabbing robbed us of seeing this one finish properly as the post-injury Seles, although still a top player, wasn't quite the same force. Sampras vs Agassi. Had some nearly flawless matches.
Damaramu Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Oklahoma/Texas.....ok that's a homer pick....but it's a huge college fb rivalry and does have to be played on a neutral site.
Mik Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 I know I'm biased, but all these posts and nobody mentioned Duke/UNC??? I'm not in NC anymore, but that gets my vote.
Secret Agent Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 OU/Nebraska used to be a bad ass rivalry until the Big 12 split them up to only play like once every 2 years. :\
Guest Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Ohio State-Michigan and Duke-UNC come to mind.

Red Baron Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Historic reasons Montreal and Toronto and Calgary and Edmonton. You can even add Toronto/Phili and to some degree Toronto/New Jersey.
razazteca Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Cowboys vs Redskins. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd love to agree with you raza (Skins fan BTW), except it's not much of a feud when the Redskins have only won 1 of the last 13 meetings between the teams. Kurt Angle Mark Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 UNC-Duke Yankees-Red Sox Chivas- America (Mexican Soccer)
caboose Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Boca Juniors Vs River Plate. Maybe not a great rivalry, but certainly an ugly, personal rivalry.
BruiserKC Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Dodgers-Giants Cardinals-Cubs Raiders-Broncos
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 From the fans perspective, Yanks/Mets is a big rivalry.
CanadianChris Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Pacers/Pistons. No, not really. I'd probably go with Yankees/Red Sox.
KanadianKrusty Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 I'm going with Yanks/Sox, with Habs/Nordiques as a close second because of all the bloody chaotic brawls.
CanadianGuitarist Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Yankees-Sox. I bleed Hab red but don't really hate any other team.
RepoMan Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 AC Milan and Liverpool I guess. I'm sure their are better in soccer. Soccer will always have the best rivalry's b/c they're oftern based on cultural, political, and historical grounds. I think OSU-Michigan is the best US rivalry. Yanks/ Sox is overated because the Sox have been the Yanks bitch for so long , and wining the WS one time still dosn't make a dent in NY's dominance.
NoCalMike Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Yanks/Sox is a tough one to top, especially in recent years. In football it HAS to be the Skins/Cowboys, because the media seems to make a big deal over it even when both teams are shit, and ratings for those games are always through the roof.
snuffbox Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Historical - Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears Biggest/Most Watched - New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox My Favorite - Erik Morales vs. Marco Antonio Barrera (There should be a fourth fight next year)
Guest Vitamin X Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Red Sox v. Yankees Leafs v. Sens Canucks v. Avs Canucks v. Wild <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you're using hockey as an example, you forgot to throw in Avs-Red Wings..
