Yeah, and that all their PPV names are sexual in nature is just a coincidence too?

BOUND FOR GLORY - for all the SnM freaks out there (you know who you are, DAMES!).

HARD Justice - for all you gay, cop and cowboy lovin, homolovers (you know who you are, DAMES!)

GENESIS - is there a sexier band than Genesis, especially back when they had Peter Gabriel on vocals and Phil Collins on drums? Genesis fans can vouch (you know who you are, DOWNHOME).

I loathe the Stroke, it is such a weak finishing move.

I cried when Jericho had his version of it. Although, anything is really improvement over the Lionsault.

You dislike the Canadian Destroyer? Blasphemy. I should get this show in a couple of hours. Looking forward to it.

I've always liked the Stroke...

Just finished watching the tape. Tonight's show was very good. If they had a 2 hour show of this caliber on Monday nights, as much of a WWE loyalist as I am (14+ years and counting, rarely missing a non-PPV show) I may have to convert. That's not to say I'm not a TNA fan now, because I really enjoy the product on a regular basis.

The last couple matches were disappointing, however. Petey won Ultimate X, which I didn't expect, but it was the result I desired. However, the match just wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. To me, the 6 man tag with AJ/Dutt/Aries vs. Daniels/Shelley/Joe topped it. It wasn't a bad match, just not the 4 star classic I expected.

Jarrett vs. Rhino was mediocre. I was hoping Rhino would retain, but I've been a fan of Jarrett's since his last IC title run. I loved him in WCW, and while I'm not a JJ superfan anymore, I certainly don't mind seeing him with the title. I just wish they didn't spoil it with the damn Genesis commercial.

Overall, the show gets a solid 8 to 8.5 out of 10 from me. I've been recording over the same tape with Impact and Smackdown for a couple months almost, but I'm definitely saving and rewatching this one.

I'm really thinking about not watching WWE and sticking only to TNA. I barely watch wrestling anymore anyway, but I still catch Raw every now and then.

I'll just tape Impact every Saturday and hope that they will eventually get a Monday Night slot. That way WWE will actually try a little harder and we can have good wrestling on both sides.

Hey, remember when they had girls dancing in cages?

Lollipop...

mmm...

Yes I remember.

...

anyway...a good freind of mine (who posts around here very rarely as TDINDCsomethingorother) and I watch all the TNA ppvs, and go to the local RoH shows. I think that he summed it up best. Between TNA's weekly hour and their monthy ppvs, and the RoH DvDs being released at record pace...

There just isn't time for WWE anymore.

Now that's coming from a perspective of people who like to be entertained (and what entertains us is good wrestling and wicked spots) and not people that like to be fed the same thing by lesser talent than fed it before (seriously...when Steve Austin was playing the role of John Cena...that was good. The understudy performace blows).

Once a year WWE trots out something to remember like Angle vs. HBK. RoH gives you great matches pretty much every show. And TNA gives you memorable matches every month.

Taboo Tuesday?

People...WWE is only the flagbearer as long as you let them wave it.

Just one more thing on my anti-WWE kick (since I will be watching Raw on Monday as always...)

TNA put Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels on prime time last night.

WWE pulls things out of JRs ass and drives off talent like Austin and Christian.

They day has come that as a TNA fan...I can look down on the WWE and not have to feel small time.

And it feels...

PHENOMENAL.

On the "moves that suck in TNA" subject, if the Canadian Destroyer's going to be included for being unrealistic, the Crucifix Bomb everyone marked out for needs to be listed. I didn't like it when I saw it first...and that was by Petey Williams on Sabin. Aries using it on Joe looks even worse.

Umm, this is wrestling guys. Just about every move is unrealistic and we all know that by now.

And the Canadian Destroyer is so damn sick, it doesn't matter if it is unrealistic or not. It's fuckin sick. Simple As That.

Matt, seriously, you've as bad of taste in workers as girlfriends.

WHAT, could POSSIBLY, make you dig Jarrett?

- Breaking a guitar over Buff Bagwell's head?

- Undeserved push over Benoit, including using convoluted "oh no, the steps of the ladder were rigged to fall OFF!" gimmick to defeat Benoit on TV?

- Boring matches with Dustin Rhodes?

- Horrible main event title feud with Sid?

- Being awarded a US Title?

- Basically ruining the WCW restart from the start. "Let's give the fans a NEW WCW!" they said. "We've chosen Jeff Jarrett as the challenger at Spring Stampede for the WCW Title!"

- Pushing a small, lame-gimmicked WCW mid-carder as WCW champ?

- Pumping up his title reigns?

- Involvement w/ awful feud with Nash, as Goldberg turned heel to save Jarrett's title reign for whatever idiotic reason?

- The CHOOO CHOOO CHOSEN ONE? When you hear the train coming though, you know its time to switch to Raw.

- Seriously, Jarrett's push ALONE was one of the 5 major downfalls of WCW from 1998-2001...and he wasn't even IN the company until Oct. 99!

- Jarrett killed Raven's nuclear TNA heat years ago. SUPER JEFF!

- Jarrett killed the 5% of credibility Rhyno had coming off of BFG. Imagine, say, Kane winning the WWE Title at WrestleMania 22 and then losing it days later on Smackdown.

- Jarrett is HORRIBLE. I can't even try to suggest TNA to my semi-casual-okay-I'll-give-it-a-try wrestling fans because when they see rejects like Jarrett they cringe and smirk.

Well tonight's show felt polished and smooth in a way, which was a nice surprise. However I was a bit disappointed in the contents of the show. By the end of the show I was basically switching back and forth between TNA and something else. I guess it's just that I don't take Jeff Jarrett as seriously as some people do. My other problem is that the X-division matchups looked too choreographed, like they were going through a string of stuff to impress the fans, which I suppose they were trying to do to get them to go "Hey this stuff looks good and fun!" I dunno, it just felt a little too fake for me. I'd probably not come back for the midnight Impacts, but if they get a permanent primetime slot, then I'd choose TNA over WWE definitely.

My rating for the show: 7.5 out of 10.

Last night is a prime example that one hour is plenty for TNA for now. By the time the Dudleys were on, I started channel flipping as well. Granted, it was an entertaining show, but TNA just can't hold my interest for two straight hours yet. (Hell, Raw can't hold it for two minutes.) I totally dig the 30-45 sec spots on the respective wrestlers before/after breaks. Rhino's interview segment was tremendous . . . not too much, not too little. The wrestling was all solid, entertaining, and exciting which is all you can hope for when trying to draw new fans. Although, Tenay was annoying yelling to call your friends about Impact. How bout I e-mail TNA my buddies' numbers and they can call instead?

Anywhoo, if TNA continues to make progress, they'll be ready for two hours this time next year.

P.S. They got to change the TNA name though.

Great show!!

I've never watched TNA that regularly, but I will now. The lack of wrestling that the WWE does is made up for in TNA. I swear, if they go head to head with raw, I will never watch raw again. Everybody on the roster, I love. Every match, I loved. Even sonjay impresses me, but maybe b/c I'm a sucker for "spots." I needed to see a replay of the canadian destroyer to actually figure out how the move works. friggin sick move. I love it. Keep up the good work TNA.

EDIT: Jarret needs to go. It's like the NMA belt is made for him just to make him happy, but the real heavyweight belt is the X-division belt.

I can't believe I spent my last few hours as a 23 year old watching that crap.

No, just kidding, but anyone else think that except for the X matches, everything was kind of boring? Characters and storylines need work. Could they at least make some effort to come up personalities for the wrestlers? The only guy with a definable personality not taken from another company was fucking awful, an Ahmed Johnson knock off. And is he catchphrase really "period."? I mean, come on.

The mood of the show struck me as WCW saturday night. Guys just having matches with no real point coming to the ring with boring entrances and music. Now some of the matches were good on WCW saturday night but the atmosphere of just a bunch of matches made it seem like the guys on it weren't important enough to have characters, that the people in charge didn't think enough of them to include them in storylines.

Look at ECW. They were struggling to get noticed but when someone did turn them on they saw something completely different. Not just in the fact that they had 20 minute matches on TV, but it had something to offer storyline wise that WCW and WWF didn't, realistic gimmick and angles. Wrestlers were more like real people in ECW. Guys in WCW and WWF didn't come in with the exact same character doing the same shit, they usually threw their WWF outfit on the ground, started cursing, and demanded to be taken seriously. Not to mention, everyone had great music, which made you take notice and remember who they were from the get go. The only one with a decent theme in TNA is Jeff Jarrett.

It's a flip. It's stupid and contrived looking. It had the wow factor for like one time.

Give me Samoa Joe shit kicking someone and having offense that looks like it'll kill someone than Petey Williams flipping.

Really enjoying the show so far. I should be reading a book and preparing a journal review. I got a bunch of MMA fans to watch this just to spite WWE.

Dude, your avatar says Couture vs Randy III, but I don't believe Randy's ever fought himself before :P Just wanted to let you know you should fix it.

Back on topic, I think a lot of people might get into TNA just to spite the WWE. I doubt they'll ever be a legitimate threat, but a healthy alternative could go a long way to making (weekly televised) wrestling worth watching again.

Things I liked, the Ultimate X match, although overated, still entertaining to watch. The way they do the intro for the main event, with both in the ring, brings a little special feeling to the match, something I thought WWE should have been doing for years.

Things I don't like, how they are trying to be the alternative, but still look like a bush league of WWE, with the fireworks, and flashy intros, which really do not work in such a small venue. The character developments of many of the wresters have a long way to go. The Raven and Rhino altercation I thought was really weak, almost to the point of cheesy when Larry Z became involved. JJ sucks, and has no business being on the top.

I really want to get behind TNA, but they are making it difficult for me.

TNA's definitely come far since debuting Impact last year. It was used as a B Show (C Show is Xplosion, since it's syndicated) with those 60 second matches to put Abyss and other guys over. Then they moved on once they started the monthly PPV circuit. Last night's show was amazing. I only switched channels during commercial breaks. They started it off with a good six man tag, showing the old guys, Hardy, Sabu, Diamond and Skipper, with the new guys. The show seemed better than the one they did last year on the BDSSP on FSN. It sucks that they spoiled the ending of their main event when they aired the Gensis commercial by calling Jarrett the champ, but I knew it would happen since BFG was rewritten at the last minute. Overall good show, hope they got a good rating as they deserve it.

"the NWA World title is the same title Ric Flair carried around in the 1980s. It certainly was not "made" for Jeff Jarrett."

That NWA Title has also been held by Tracy Smothers, The Colorado Kid, Chris Candido, and countless other low-carders.

I _really_ enjoyed the show last night. It was nice having wrestling on a Thursday night again, if only as a one time thing.

Some thoughts:

- The six man tag was far and away the best show of the evening. My wife, who is only a very casual wrestling fan who sometimes watches RAW with me, said "this is the best match I've seen in months!" She was really into it, and liked all the high flying and flipping moves. If TNA can keep attracting casual fans like that, they could really turn into something big.

- Samoa Joe is the real deal. When he yelled in AJ Styles face...well, it was awesome. You don't see that kind of emotion in a match too often nowadays.

- My wife also noticed how there was less talking on this show than most WWE matches. It was a nice change of pace.

- Ultimate X was good, but it didn't blow me away. The match felt a bit disjointed to me.

- The Dudleys, er...Team 3D had a decent match, using some moves I don't remember them doing in a while.

- Some of the guys really do need personalities though. Especially a lot of the X Division guys...I mean, is there any difference between any of the guys in Team Canada? What sets apart guys like Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, and Austin Aries? Other than using slightly different moves, I have no idea.

- I liked the segment with Raven and Rhino. It served a purpose, and both guys seemed believable.

- I didn't mind Jeff Jarrett as much as usual. I thought he wrestled a pretty good match. I think the Stroke is fine as a finisher. Keep in mind, I'm never going to be a JJ fan, but at least he wasn't totally annoying like he has been on previous shows I've seen.

- Monty Brown has the total look of a star. I was laughing at his facials, and loved how he gave that jobber the Pounce three times in a row. I thought it was a good way to keep hyping Brown.

I can summarize my thoughts like this: Spike TV, please move TNA to a week night (when I'm actually home), so I don't have to tape it! I will watch!

I friggen HATEE the hate on the Canadian Destroyer. Honestly.. you could do that to someone for real.. regardless whether you think it's fake or not. If you jump and flip yourself lover, the other guy is going to go with you.

The move looks amazing.

Don't even get me started on the Ole! kick.
