Guest jm29195 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I've just got all of the Futurama seasons 1-4 dvds and rather than watching it all randomly, could anyone tell me what the best episodes are and why? cheers
Slayer Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 My personal favorites War is the H-Word Bird-bot of Ice-catraz Roswell That Ends Well Parasites Lost Amazon Women in the Mood The Day the Earth Stood Stupid both Anthologies of Interest
Guest wrestlingbs Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 The first X-Mas episode was one of the best.
Boner Kawanger Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Watch them in order, but when you get to "Jurassic Bark", get the Kleenex for God's sake. That episode was ROBBED at the Emmy's by that Simpsons episode where Homer lives with the gay couple. That's right.
Guest jm29195 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I've seen a few of them now and there's some episodes, where they finish with a music overlay....ummm... like the Luck of the Fryrish, Jurassic Bark and Leela's homeworld, really sad, and definetly not what i was expecting from Futurama...
Downhome Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I've seen a few of them now and there's some episodes, where they finish with a music overlay....ummm... like the Luck of the Fryrish, Jurassic Bark and Leela's homeworld, really sad, and definetly not what i was expecting from Futurama... Futurama had quite a few emotional moments. Moments that got to me unlike any live-action sitcom has in a while. It hits you even harder if you have seen all of the episodes leading up the the emotional shows, that's why I say watch them in order. Not to mention that there are some jokes and stuff that you just wont really get unless you watch all of the shows in order.
Ravenbomb Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 nice to see I'm not the only one who almost cried during Jurassic Bark and the Fry's Brother Stole His Name episodes
cbacon Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Watch them in order, but when you get to "Jurassic Bark", get the Kleenex for God's sake. That episode was ROBBED at the Emmy's by that Simpsons episode where Homer lives with the gay couple. That's right. Fucking Simpsons Anyways, i'd say my favourite episode is Roswell that Ends Well. I'm a mark for anything involving time travel. Other favourites: The Luck of Fryish Jurassic Bark Amazon Women in the Mood and any of the episodes involving the Brain Spawn and the Nibblonians. I wish they'd had another season to develop that more...
cynicalprofit Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I dont know the name of the episodes, but I hung up on a friend, when i first saw the one about lelahs parents, and this was like a month ago when i finally saw it...and wow was that a tear jerker....i didnt think animation could be that emotional...... and the one about frys bro was damn good too, emotionally.
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I only watch random shows on cartoon network, but Family Guy takes precedence over it as far as I'm concerned. I watch for MOGOR~ the evil alien newscaster. One of my favorite lines I can remember: "Our candidates are: PUNY HUMAN #1.... PUNY HUMAN #2... And EVIL RICHARD NIXON! May your enemies die a brutal and painful death!"
tbondrage99 Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 I like the Robot Hell Episode. Also the one where they go to college, I forget what its called but its a pretty good Animal House parody.
Steviekick Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 My favorite one was the one where they go back to the 1950s with the Area 51 parody. Zoidberg is impeccable in that episode.
DrVenkman PhD Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Anthology of Interest II, Luck of the Fryrish, and Jurassic Bark are all good. The wrestling mark in my enjoys Raging Bender. "I'm not from around here! I have my own customs! Look at my CRAAAZY Passport" The one with the time kips is also quite good. And The Farnsworth Parabox has my favourite line of the series (which sadly I cannot remember). "Good news everyone! (Good news explained). But the real good news is The Bible".
Kahran Ramsus Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Hell is Other Robots would have to be my favourite episode, if only for the final act in Robot Hell with the snappy musical number. However, the rest of the episode is great too featuring Bender finding religion after becoming a drug addict.
El Psycho Diablo Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 I only watch random shows on cartoon network, but Family Guy takes precedence over it as far as I'm concerned. I watch for MOGOR~ the evil alien newscaster. One of my favorite lines I can remember: "Our candidates are: PUNY HUMAN #1.... PUNY HUMAN #2... And EVIL RICHARD NIXON! May your enemies die a brutal and painful death!" Morbo! Morbo: "You humans do not yet know the meaning of suffering!" *evil laugh* Female Newscaster: *laughs nervously*
Spaceman Spiff Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 And I think the line was: "Puny Human #1, Puny Human #2, and Morbo's good friend Richard Nixon."
The Metal Maniac Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 "Hello Morbo. How's the family?" "Belligerent and numerous."
AlwaysPissedOff Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 I love Amazon Women in the Mood, but I can never see it on CN(unless they stopped showing it for some reason).
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 OK, I just saw Jurassic Bark on adult swim and I have to agree with the consensus of damn near busting out the Kleenex. What a total downer. That was the most melancholy animated sitcom episode I'd ever seen.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 I turned it off last night. I like that episode but it still gets me even on the 4th or 5th viewing. How the fuck did that stupid Simpsons episode win an Emmy over that?
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 If Jurassic Bark is the one with Fry's dog Seymore from 1999, then it was on Adult Swim last night.
bobobrazil1984 Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 i thought Luck of the Fryish, about his brother, was an honest to god tearjerker. I almost cried dammit! As far as comedy, I think my favorite is "When Aliens Attack", a merciless ripping of ally mcbeal
Slayer Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Last night was the first time I'd ever seen Jurassic Bark too. Definitely a heart-tugger (can't say I cried, but it did it's best to try) right up there with Luck of the Fryrish, plus it had some hilarious moments intermittent with the serious stuff ("Robopuppy to commence 2 hours of yipping... yip! yip! yip!" *kick* "Robopuppy activating mistreatment alarm!") To my list above I would have to add "Bicyclops Built for Two" (if only for the great Married with Children parody) and "Time Keeps on Slipping" (for all the Harlem Globetrotter stuff)
Gary Floyd Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Best Episodes War is the H-Word Amazonian Women in the Mood Kif Gets Knocked Up a Bunch When Aliens Attack The Why of Fry (Fry:"What killed the Dinosaurs?" Giant Brain:"I DID!")
Guest JMA Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 My favorite episodes are "Luck of the Fryish" and "Jurassic Bark." I had to fight back the tears the first time I saw these episodes as well.
Jericholic82 Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 now youve got me wondering what happemed injurrassic bark (cant rrmemeber I f I saw it or not just by the title) you can pu tit in spoiler tags if you want.
muzz Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 There's simply too many episodes for me to list that I love, but I was watching Roswell that Ends Well the other day, and that has to be up there. "Do ya ever get the feeling you're just going with girls 'cause ya supposed ta?" "...WHAT!?"
