The Godfather Part III - in my opinion, it isn't as bad as some people would have you think. It may not be as good as the first two films, but it's still better than a lot of the crap that has come out in the last few years.

Jersey Girl - yeah, I may be a bit biased. A lot of people seemed to write it off because they were sick of "Bennifer" and thought it would be another Gigli. I wonder how many people actually watched the movie before making judgments on it. I thought the movie had its moments and George Carlin had a major role.

Any Godzilla movie (minus Godzilla vs. Megalon, Son of Godzilla, Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster, and  the 98 version).

Ditto. Godzilla's my childhood hero. I love Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster though, especially the surf rock score.

Oh yea, my list

Pootie-Tang

Joe's Apartment (singing cockroaches=GOLD)

Beyond Re Animator (Not as good as the first one, but better than "Bride of Re-Animator")

Day of the Dead (I love this movie.Fortunately, more people are now beginning to appreciate it.That is, unless you're a poster on Aint it Cool News, but who cares, the people there suck shit)

Cabin Fever (How anyone could hate this movie is beyond me)

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (If you hate this movie, you are "Badong")

The Cable Guy

Castle Freak

Deep Rising (Hard to believe it's from the director of "The Mummy Returns" and "Van Helsing")

House on Haunted Hill remake (It has Geoffry Rush, Jeffry Combs, some decent gore, and Chris Kattan being tolerable)

The Ice Storm and Magnolia.

My friends hated those movies.

Kill Bill(Volumes 1 and 2). I loved them, but all my friends, and most people I know REALLY dislike this movie.

I don't dislike either film, but I do think they're VERY overrated. They're decent action flicks, but far from classics, and are something of a disappointment, IMO, considering Tarantino's past work.

Oh, and lovecraft, I'm with you on the House on Haunted Hill remake. That's a pretty decent modern horror flick.

My basic rule of thumb is: my likes/dislikes are almost always the exact opposite of movie critics.

That counts for most people who don't have an overinflated opinion of themselves.

Highlander: Endgame is the one for me. I just bought a 2 disc copy when I was out in Spokane last month. Aside from the first movie, this one is by far the best of the series. But it seems that a lot of people who are into Highlander hate it. I guess it comes from them not being able to come to terms with the fact that Connor McLeod is no more. Wahhh.

Kill Bill was awesome in my view. I think that Tarantino is becoming a victim of his hype. In some peoples eyes, he is all but deified, and the problem with that is that everyone expects him to put out another Pulp Fiction or Riverdogs. While I don;t think its his best work, Kill Bill was wonderful for what it was; a tribute to all of the classic martial arts flicks, with his own spin put on it.

MK was excellent (it still holds up today), and MK: Annihilation was an abortion.

The Ice Storm was a great movie.

I loved Popeye. My list also includes:

Daredevil

Elektra

LXG

Hulk

Red Dragon- met a lot of people who didn't like it for some reason. Aslo liked Hannibal, but not as much.

K*19, The Widowmaker. Always loved submarine movies.

I liked Highlander: Endgame. The only thing I didn't like about it was that I swear they changed the ending on the DVD, cause I don't remember the chick living in the theatrical version.

Faith lived in the theatrical version. Every time I have seen Endgame, it was with that ending, though they could have killed her off and I would have been good with it.

Ugh, do NOT get me started on Daredevil. I might rent Elektra from Netflix just to check it out. My bias against Daredevil might keep me fropm viewing it with an unbiased perspective, though.

Ready to Rumble, the only good David Arquette film.

"And it is hard to imagine that in some countries, people actually eat them" (or something like that. Fred Williard is God in this movie as everything that comes out of his mouth is hilarious. I had to see this a second time because the first time my friend couldn't get past the gay couple, thinking it was going to be "nothing but fags."

House on Haunted Hill, is really ace apart from the shitty music they use as background halfway through that sounds like a shitty made for tv 80's thing, and the super shitty cgi monster thing at the end....

Zoolander...most of my friends hate it, and yeah, it's retarded but that's the point and it always gives me a laugh.

The best Stiller film I've ever seen!

Nick of Time. Walken and Depp both in the same movie. What more do you need? A plot? Oh, fine, insert cliched you-kill-this-person-blackmail, with the addition of a nifty real-time gimmick, here.

Suicide Kings. Again, Walken. This movie, though an indy film, is so underrated. Its one of those diamonds that get lost amongst the filth of everything else.

When I worked at a vidoe store, customers asked if Eyes Wide Shut was any good. The first four of five times I said yes. But after they all came back saying they hated it, I started to tell people not to rent it since it seemed I was the only one who liked it.

I'm with you on Jersey Girl. I really liked the movie although I know a few who either didn't like it or had no intentions of seeing it. When I went to Vulgarthon this year in LA, Kevin Smith played the directors cut of Jersey Girl which was OVER 2 hours and man I'm glad he cut it down to the version that was in the theatres. It has almost an hour of Jennifer in it before she dies.
